Dear Servant of the Lord:
Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
JOY AND THE PLACE I'M IN
Philippians 1:12-26
Text: Philippians 1:18 "I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice."
Pastor McPhail, you preach about a life of Christian joy, and that's fine for you, but you don't minister where I minister. You don't have the difficulties I have. You don't have to face the people I have to face every week. You don't have the financial struggles that I have. It's all right for you to talk about a life of Christian joy, but you wouldn't be so joyful if you were in the place I'm in!
That is our attitude toward life. We think that just because we are in a hard place, we are justified in ceasing to rejoice.
Let's see how Paul managed. He already had been in prison back home for two years. And there was the dangerous voyage at sea. Now he faced still two more years in prison at Rome.
This was not an easy situation nevertheless, right in the middle of it all, Paul says, "I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice!" Surely we learn from this that Christian joy is not dependent on the place/ministry we are in.
At least three things can grow out of a difficult situation.
A BITTERNESS THAT CAN SPOIL - Philippians 1:13,15,16.
When you are in a difficult place, it is easy to become bitter, and I have never yet met a bitter person who was happy. Happiness and bitterness do not blend. Is there a root of bitterness in some part of your life that is spoiling the whole?
What had entered into Paul's potential bitterness? He had wonderfully overcome it; he had risen above it and was rejoicing. But potentially the bitterness was there. What was involved that could have made Paul an extremely bitter man? I think there are three things and if allowed to enter your heart, they can make you bitter too!
A. THE INJUSTICE OF YOUR BONDS - In verse 13 Paul mentions "my bonds in Christ." Already the apostle had heard the opinion of authority three times. "This man had done nothing worthy of death or bonds" said the captain of the temple guard when Paul was arrested. Festus asserted, "This man has done nothing worthy of death." And after consulting together, Agrippa and Festus concluded, "This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds." Paul's bonds were branded with injustice.
B. THE HOSTILITY OF YOUR COLLEAGUES - 1:15,16 "Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife." They were fellow Christians preaching Christ and not heresy. But they were making the most of Paul's bad situation by worming their way into places of influence and power. In doing so, they were elbowing Paul out of the way, "Supposing to add affliction to (his) bonds." 1:16b. Has anything like this ever happened to you or your ministry? That is a pretty hard place in which to rejoice, isn't it?
C. THE FORGETFULNESS OF YOUR LORD - This must have been in Paul's mind even though it is not specifically spelled out here. Paul was human enough to have had a second thought or two about his Lord's faithfulness during these trying times. Where was God's purpose in such hardships? Paul had been called as an apostle to preach, and he could not preach, he could not be with the churches he founded, he could not move. Had his Lord forgotten that he was in prison? Thus, when this apostle writes, "I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.' He is no impractical soul. He is in a place far more difficult than yours, yet he steadfastly refused to become the victim of destructive bitterness.
A BLESSEDNESS THAT CAN SURPRISE - 1:12-14, 19.
The blessings that are born out of a difficult situation are often a real surprise. The word "furtherance" in verse 12b pictures the cutting away of undergrowth and the removing of obstacles in the path of any army. So Paul's being in prison surprisingly removed barriers to the gospel rather than being a barrier.
A. THE BLESSING OF THE SPREAD OF GOSPEL 1:13 The Imperial Guard, Rome's finest military men, were hearing the gospel in Paul's prison. The chain that deprived him of freedom gave him opportunity to reach those whom he never could have reached any other way.
There is a message in this for you. If you are in a tough situation, perhaps God has placed you there for a divine purpose. People are there whom we never could touch otherwise. In your difficult place, the blessedness that can surprise is the spread of the gospel.
B. THE BLESSING OF STRENGTHENING OTHER CHRISTIANS 1:14.
Paul's hardship was just what other Christians needed to witness in order to find courage to speak the Word without fear. That hard place in your life/ministry may become a means of strengthening some other Christian(s). The way you face the death of a loved one or the heartache of family/ministry problems may be the greatest opportunity you will ever have to strengthen a fellow Christian. Your courage may be just the medicine needs to put through his own personal crisis. This is a blessedness that can surprise!
C. THE BLESSING OF PERSONAL CHRISTIAN GROWTH 1:19
The word "salvation" here means Christian growth, spiritual development, revival and well-being. Paul was imprisoned not only for the spread of the gospel and the strengthening of other Christians but his own Christian growth as well.
A BOLDNESS THAT CAN SING - 1:18b, 20-26
"And I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." V. 18b When all is well we find it delightful to sing. But when hardships come and the rain begins to fall into our lives/ministry, we have no song. We must have that boldness that can sing even when the way is dreary and the future uncertain.
A. BECAUSE OF A CONCERN FOR CHRIST'S GLORY WE CAN KNOW A BOLDNESSS THAT CAN SING - "But that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body." V. 20b
Completely unconcerned about himself, the apostle's concern is for Christ's glory, that Christ be magnified. He was not concerned that Paul be honoured or applauded but that his Lord be lifted up so that people might be attracted to him. Are you more concerned for Christ's glory than you are for your own image, your own ministry, your own success and future? If so, you will know a boldness that can sing no matter where God's will may place you. If not, you will be unhappy even though, He places you in a most honoured position of life.
B. BECAUSE OF A CONTEMPT FOR YOUR OWN COMFORT, YOU KNOW A BOLDNESS THAT CAN SING - vv. 20c-21 "Whether it be by life, or by death. For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
Your place, like Paul's, may be not only difficult but also dangerous. The fear of uncertainty and the threat of destruction may hang over you. Death may become as much a possibility as life - you must be ready for either. When you hold your own comfort in contempt, you too will gain a boldness that can sin, even in the face of life's most difficult hours. You are Christ's no matter what happens, be it life or death!
C. BECAUSE OF AN ABIDING CONFIDENCE IN GOD'S CONTROL, A BOLDNESS THAT CAN SING BECOMES YOURS - vv. 25, 26 "And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide &ldots;" v. 5
In verse 23 Paul said, "I am in a strait betwixt two &ldots;" This portrays a rock wall on both sides that so hems us in that we can only go straight ahead. The apostle had no alternative - he must do God's straight ahead. The apostle had no alternative - he must do God's bidding. And so with confidence in God's control, he boldly marched on.
Servant of the Lord are you hard pressed, in a "strait betwixt two," and do not know which way to turn? Then claim that boldness that comes only from absolute confidence in God's control. When you do, you will begin to live a life of Christian joy no matter what place you are in.
May the Lord grant you a most blessed and productive 2007.
Anna Mae and I are looking forward to seeing you at the I.A.O.G.I. (Canada) National Convention, May 7 - 10, 2007 at the Embassy West Hotel Convention Centre, Ottawa, Ontario. Rev. Dr. Mike Brown is the Convention Speaker and the theme is "Be Strong In The Lord.' Eph. 6:10

THE PASSAGE OF THE TORCH
In the beginning of the year 2006, I was in prayer and I had a vision of some of our pioneers who were forgotten of all their works that have made the history of the Gospel in the Province of Québec, and I heard the voice of God telling me "Do something for Them".
Suddenly, a burden of respect and recognition came on me. God laid on my heart to organize a Conference "The Passage of the Torch".
The first three days the Pioneers will bring the Word and will be ministering. In the middle of the Conference, they will pass the torch symbolically to the next generation, so three young preachers will finish the Conference bringing the Word and ministering also.
So I invite you and don't miss this wonderful occasion to see God doing great things.

A WORD FROM THE LORD
Thus saith the Most High: "I am Him who sits on the throne of the universe, yea, even the throne of grace. I am Him that sits before the stones of fire. I would have you walk upon the stones of fire, for there you would find me. For as it was with the three Hebrew boys, I was already there, waiting. You ask, 'Why must I always go through this?' And I would say, 'You have not passed the test; you have not entered the fire. For it is in the fire, that I would purify you and make your heart transparent."
Thus saith the Lord: "I called you out of darkness and into My light. I called you into the light by name. I set you on a hill and spoke, 'Let there be light.' I would have you filled with My Spirit that when the nations ask you, 'Who is your Father?' I would have you so filled with My Presence, that when they ask, 'Who is your God?', you would answer, 'If you have seen me you've seen my Father, who sent me, for I do the works of my Father, who sent me.'
I have heard the cry of my children. They have asked me to pour out the latter rain and this I will do at the appointed time. But my sons and daughters must hear the cry of heaven: When I rent the veil, it was rent not so I could come to earth, but so you could come up. Hear the cry of heaven: 'Come up!' "

THE GREATEST FEAR
The greatest fear that people have is being insignificant. People fear death, but they fear dying much more. Single adults get to be that way through being divorced, the death of a spouse, or never having been married. Each of these roads to single adulthood have unique dimensions.
Whatever set of circumstances may have brought you here alone, be assured that I want you to discover that life can become more alive with the application of principles of scripture which help us with a sound mental mind.
Man's original condition was that of singleness. God's conclusion is that it's not mankind's ultimate good to be alone. However, His word also recognizes marriage is not for everyone all the time. We don't know how long Adam lived single before Eve was created. Whether you are single or married, your sense of personhood is rooted in relationships, to God, yourself and others. Your personhood does not need to suffer because you are not married. One sense of personhood is rooted in many relationships, not necessarily marriage.
Marriage is just one relationship in life. Your sense of personhood is a source of your happiness. Marriage does not make anyone happy. There are two types of fears: 1. When we are out of a relationship with God. That fear is NOT of God. The first step of a wise person is toward ordering the priorities of life so the relationship with God comes first. 2. Fear of the Lord. Mary had this fear because she had a right relationship with God.
The relationship with God is more than an emotion, but if the relationship with God has not touched your emotions, you need to get better acquainted with Him. When we become intimately acquainted with God, our relationship with Him will be one of love and support rather than judgment and terror. We usually become angry with God when we have a list of things for Him to do and He hasn't done them. There are some things we hoped wouldn't happen and they have. A bad divorce, a child dies or disease claims our mate. God is not offended by that kind of anger, He is moved by compassion because we get hurt when we have anger toward God. God chose to give us freedom to choose, and remember your relationship with God is something no one can take away. You need to recognize the relationship you have with yourself. Make some notes about how you feel about the person you're with when you're alone. How do you feel about your body? How do you like your hair? How do you like your eyes? If you don't love yourself, you don't love everybody that God loves, because God loves you. Anger at what has happened, fear of what will happen and guilt at what is now happening overwhelm our feelings of self value.
Your relationship with God is the one over which you have complete control. God's feelings are love and compassion toward our loneliness. People can love you, but they can't make you love them. That's an act of your own will. Every healthy person needs time to be alone. Pain usually serves to make us aware of an area of our life that needs our attention. When viewed this way, loneliness may be seen as a friend alerting us to ailing or neglecting relationships. God made man to need others. The need for fellowship is in all levels of life. It's a big mistake to assume that loneliness is our enemy. Loneliness is never the problem, it is the symptom of an underlying problem. The problem is the absence or neglect of other healthy relationships. A sure formula for winning the battle over loneliness is Galatians 5: 13-14 ... "By love serve one another."
We learn to do this by discovering we are loved. God bought back His fellowship with us at the price of His only Son, so relationships are important to God. That's what you're worth. God sees us as changeable, anything growing is changing. Good feelings about me are too important to depend on how other people respond to me. Most people in life are takers, not givers, most not all. Whether people respond to your love or your serving in their choice. Your self value rooted in your relationship with God will give you freedom to love and to serve others with little or no fear of their rejection.
I like myself, I respect myself, I am not ashamed of the way I treat myself, I am worthy to be loved.
God makes me responsible. He gives me the control of the relationships of my life so that even though I may be alone, I can still be very much alive. These are the steps to allow yourself to experience God's unconditional love:
1. Get in the presence of God and imagine Calvary. 2. Imagine what it is like to have the Maker of this universe saying to you, "your name here" you are worth the blood of my son. I understand your moments of weakness. All that you have done wrong, you have asked me to forgive you - it's in the past.
You have times when you are in the presence of God, where you can relive your conversion. Relive His love for you. I will serve Him because I love Him.

AFRICAN SAFARI 2006
Praise God for enabling me to persevere through many obstacles on this safari. The toiletries were four days late arriving from Nairobi, which required our meetings in Bukavu to be rescheduled. The mail sent two months earlier, arrived in Kalemie when I did, which again required meetings to be reschedule. In Molo, an ulcer developed on my foot which was very painful and limited my ministry for the rest of the trip. But the Lord was our Victor in all these adversities. There was a good anointing on the ministry every place we went.
My daughter, Christine, traveled with me for nine weeks, the whole trip. She says that this was a time for her to rediscover her happy, carefree self, and connecting with other missionary kids. Steve Bereft, from Grace Ministries in Windsor, Ontario, ministered with me for three weeks in Kenya. The "Special Mothers" in Bukavu, Congo, cried, cheered, and clapped when we presented them with six thirty-kilogram boxes of toiletry bags as expression of love for these violated women. These were received from churches in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and several churches in Ontario. Another nine boxes are being sent.
In Bukavu, Congo, I ministered at Saying Pentecostal Church, their youth rally, at Shekinah Church, and at four couple's meetings arranged by my friend, Ghamma.
In Kalemie, I spoke at International Bible Institute, Kituku Assemblies of God, Pas. Masangu's Good Shepherd church, Garanganze Brethren church, and Grace Assembly, and I inspected the Cranford Memorial Clinic, which I started there in 1982.
In Fizi, I preached at the Assembly of God, and inspected the work that we are doing on the building of the Kalembelembe Bible Institute. In Molo, Kenya, Steve and I preached at Matumaini Children's Centre and held a pastors' seminar. We support this centre for handicapped children. In Migori, I preached at Pas. Ratanga's church convention. Funds have been sent to repaint the roof on this church. In Mururui, a suburb of Nairobi, we preached at Pas. Kamau's women's convention. In Igoji, Maua, and Nanyuki, we preached at Pas. Njeru's churches. We send monthly support to Pas. Njeru. This safari finished in Meru, where we ministered at Pas. Mugo's convention. Pas. Mugo receives monthly support to minister in his thirty churches. Thank you for all your doing with your prayers and support of this ministry.

PENTECOSTAL CHARISMATIC CHURCHES OF NORTH AMERICA
PCCNA leaders met to examine the organization's purpose and Rev Macklin and Rev Morrow were elected to key posts.
Twenty delegates representing a broad spectrum of Pentecostal leadership gathered for a meeting of the Pentecostal Charismatic Churches of North America board in Springfield, MO, October 26, 2006. Reverend Charles T. Crabtree, assistant general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, chaired the session together with co-chair Bishop Jerry Macklin, pastor of Glad Tidings Church of God in Christ, Hayward, CA, and member of the Church of God in Christ Presidium and Prelate for the Northern California Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.
Following opening comments and a devotional from Acts 2, Rev Crabtree announced that he would be retiring in 2007 from his post as assistant general superintendent with the Assemblies of God, and, in view of this, would be tendering his resignation as chairman of the PCCNA as well, effective with this meeting. Balloting and elections for the chair and vice-chair positions were held later in the meeting.
In recent months, Rev Crabtree and Macklin met to address PCCNA's purpose, which, in itself was a matter of concern. "There has to be a purpose so strong that there is no question as to whether we need each other."
Rev Crabtree noted that he and Bishop Macklin met to discuss what might be done to engage churches. It seemed that an appropriate focus would be to partner churches in reaching out to the poor and to help change cities.
Following these opening statements, Rev Crabtree invited Bishop Macklin to share his perspectives. Expressing appreciation for the chairman's sincerity and forthrightness in addressing this issue, Macklin spoke in support of continuing the PCCNA. Reflecting upon the Memphis Miracle and the disappointing aftermath, he stated, "We cannot force reconciliation, but what we can do is encourage partnerships across denominational and racial lines. We can encourage relationship building." Macklin relayed an event on Pentecost Sunday when he and his congregation invited Pentecostals in their city from all denominations and fellowships and racial lines for a meal and a time of fellowship and worship together. The response was overwhelming. "We had church!" Macklin exclaimed.
Macklin noted that in today's world, large gatherings are giving way to technological means of communication such as video and teleconferencing and providing online helps and resources for churches to download and use. Many pastors and other church workers are looking for helps of all kinds. Also, church events such as seminars, conferences, and other gatherings can be shared via the web with hundreds of other churches. "Now we are dealing with relationships on a smaller level," Macklin explained. "We need to encourage everyday relationships and projects."
Thanking Bishop Macklin for his insights, Rev Crabtree opened the floor for further discussion. Bishop Clyde Hughes, general overseer, International Pentecostal Church of Christ, reminded the group that following 9/11 the question asked by many was, "Who speaks for Islam?" "I think we have to ask, 'Who speaks for Pentecostalism?'" he added. Citing some highly visible Pentecostals, Hughes expressed concern about the voices speaking for Pentecostalism today. "PCCNA past and present represents the matriarchs and patriarchs of Pentecost. I think we would deprive the Pentecostal world if we shut down."
Others at the table also affirmed that the PCCNA should serve as a voice for Pentecostalism. Dr. Ron Carpenter, executive director, Evangelism USA, International Pentecostal Holiness Church, noted, "There is no other place where this many Pentecostal leaders get together and speak as one voice."
In addition to being a voice for Pentecostalism, relationship building and working together on grassroots outreaches and projects were highlighted as key purposes for the PCCNA. "Fellowship is a core value for the PCCNA," stated Reverend Bishop Randy Howard, general overseer, Church of God of Prophecy. "Fellowship is about sharing, growing, and being together. I would regret to see that lost. Can we celebrate our strengths and partner with others?"
Noting the concern that many top level administrators are too involved with their respective responsibilities to initiate partnerships and projects, significant discussion was given to engaging young leaders in the work of the PCCNA. A recommendation was made to release those initiatives to younger leadership.
"We need to intentionally address the issue of younger leaders," expressed Dr. William Morrow, general superintendent, Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Hal Donaldson, editor in chief, Today's Pentecostal Evangel, included that focus in listing four things he sees for the future of the PCCNA: to be a united force for prayer; to unite in acts of compassion; to become a voice for Pentecost by earning the right to be heard; and to hand the initiation of PCCNA projects and objectives to leaders in their 30s and 40s. "They have the energy and passion to do it," Donaldson stated.
Reverend Jeff Farmer, president, Open Bible Churches, noted that while it was apparent that the consensus was for PCCNA to continue, he admonished the group to consider providing assistance to the chair and co-chair to drive things forward and posed the questions, "Do we have the commitment, the time, the resources and the will to make this happen? How do we get from dialogue to action?"
In response, emphasis again was placed on the need for younger leaders to help make things move forward. Crabtree suggested that a cabinet of young ministers be appointed to help drive initiatives forward. "We are going to need to help the person appointed to lead the PCCNA. We need to create a support base for this to happen."
Among concluding responses, Dr. June McBirnie, McBirnie Foundation, reinforced the need to encourage fellowship and build relationships. "Fellowship is the key to any organization," she stated. In terms of fulfilling initiatives, she reminded the group of the importance of engaging women in the work. "You need women to help make it happen. Don't avoid the opportunity to let them do the work."
As discussion concluded, ballots were distributed to elect a new chairman and co-chairman for the PCCNA. Bishop Jerry Macklin was elected chairman and Dr. William Morrow vice-chairman.
Upon expressing gratitude for the confidence of the PCCNA board, Macklin asked for a listing of top priorities among the leaders. This resulted in the following:
Support and encourage young leaders
Place mission before protocol and organization
Emphasize leadership summits above corporate structure to provide a Pentecostal voice for social and other issues
Provide a Pentecostal vehicle through PCCNA to strengthen relationships
Form a leadership team that is smaller and functions faster and with greater purpose
Find a way to connect with charismatic leadership
Provide appropriate assistance to the PCCNA chair (people and financial support)
Find better and more ways to tell the good stories of Pentecostal churches and ministries in North America and around the world
Connect with different people groups
Continually work toward racial freedoms and unity
Multiply the number of people involved in ministry attached to the PCCNA
Clarify the work of the Holy Spirit, providing a Pentecostal voice
Bishop Macklin asked Reverend Paul McPhail, General Secretary, Independent Assemblies of God International (Canada), to close the meeting of the PCCNA board meeting in prayer. Afterward the Executive Committee met to discuss ways to express appreciation to Reverend Charles Crabtree for his years of service to the PCCNA and his tenure as chairman.
PRAYER POWER BRINGS TRANSFORMATION
Prayer is changing Fiji according to citizens and government leaders.
Fiji is a cluster of 332 islands in the South Pacific (on a world map it is just right of Australia) famous for scenic beaches and beautiful resorts. But in September of 2004, Christian leaders from around the world flocked to Fiji to see firsthand its dramatic national revival: a revival that started with prayer.
The history is that in May 2000 Fiji was torn in two. Ethnic tensions sparked a military coup attempt. The government was held hostage for 56 days, violence and chaos ruled. This paradise was crumbling to pieces.
But in this helplessness, a tremendous thirst for God and a spirit of personal soul-searching swept through the churches. God's people began to pray for a government that would stabilize the nation. And in answer to prayer God raised up leaders who honoured Him. The Prime Minister of Fiji shocked a crowd of ten thousand people as he boldly and publicly confessed his faith in God.
He said "Our efforts in building this country will come to nothing, if they are not rooted firmly in the love and fear of God. I ask Him to forgive me for the times I have been neglectful and cold in my relationship with Him. With Your guidance, Lord, this sinner will renew himself; will find new purpose in the pursuit of Your will. Lord, I entreat You again to forgive me, to save me, to capture my heart and hold my hand. I honour you as the King of Kings."
Today reconciliation and unity are evident among government and church leaders and even among Fijians and Indians.
We challenge each one to catch the vision and unite to pray for Canada's healing and revival. God is no respector of person what He is doing in Fiji He can do in our great nation.Healings are taking place in Fiji in church crusades, turning many to have a hunger to know the reality of Jesus Christ.
Fijians say that for 42 years a certain stream among the dry hills caused barrenness, mental illness and even blindness to the people of Nuku. But only in 2003 God miraculously healed the waters. They have now become a source of life.
Healing the Land teams have addressed issues like idolatry and witchcraft and many have found faith in Jesus Christ. It has been during this time that the water was healed, mysteriously, miraculously.
Village women testify that fish can now be caught in abundance from the sea. Previously there was not many fish. For 15 years this situation existed, but immediately after they saw revival fire, the fish began to come.
In 2004 Christians from 14 nations gathered in Fiji to share the transforming experiences taking place. Among them Ugandan John Mulinde who said in Uganda then, almost every week a number of churches are being opened. So many are coming to the Lord churches have to be opened to accommodate the intense hunger for God. This is revival.
George Otis Jr., founder of The Sentinel Group said in 2004 "people have gathered from all over the world here in Fiji to take that symbolic torch of Revival, and with ambassadorial teams meet with senior political, business and church leaders. Sharing two gifts with them 1) the testimonies of what God has done, not just in Fiji but in many nations and cities and 2) the principles that brought these wonderful victories and breakthroughs into being, and inviting them to welcome the same Spirit and the same victories into their own nations."
Doug Stringer an Independent Assemblies of God International minister from the United States, and president and founder of Somebody Cares America said, "let this be an occasion for your testimony. The world needs to know in the midst of crisis that the church is one, crossing our racial and denominational lines. And that from every nation coming to the 'mountain-of-the-Lord' and saying how much we need Jesus."
Three key principles for Revival stand out in all that was shared and heard at that time. There were repentance, reconciliation and unity in Christ. A sign said "In the Name of Your Son, we will break down all the dividing walls."
What's so amazing is that they had water previously that was making people sick, and they couldn't get fish. But, as soon as they honoured the Lord, God turned things around. God can change lives and lands. Wilt thou be made whole Canada? John 5:6
"God keep our land
Glorious and free
O Canada we stand on guard for thee
O Canada we stand on guard for thee"

HAITI WILL BE TRANSFORMED
In
October, I took another short term mission team to Haiti. We
blessed over 5000 people with a supply of dry rice plus items of
clothing and toiletries.
Besides meeting physical needs, our main focus was to bring people together in unity and pray for God to heal the land of Haiti. Each village we visited, we shared the story of how God transformed the islands of Fiji when people began to seek His face.
On Sunday evening in Neply, Joey Jones preached the message of Revival! The entire congregation laid hands on the walls of the church and began calling on God for their country. There were reports from several Haitians that during this prayer time, they could actually feel the church walls trembling!!!
Pastor Antoine taught the people a song in Creole called, "There's going to be a Revival in the Land" and dancing broke out through the entire crowd.
The day our team left Haiti, the village of Neply was on such a Spiritual High that a team of Haitian Evangelists from Port au Prince came to Neply to spend the following week.
Each morning, they held prayer meetings in Neply at 4 am followed by worship. All day the team of Haitian Evangelists would canvass villages throughout the entire area to spread the message of Revival and inform people of the evening services. Every night powerful Revival services were held for an entire week. God is moving in the Neply area like they've never experienced before!
When God burdened our hearts months ago to begin to pray for Haiti to be transformed, we knew He'd also have to move in the hearts of people that we don't even know. Prayer moves the hand of God and recently in the capital city of Port au Prince, 250 churches came together in unity to pray for Haiti and discuss how they can begin to bring change to their country!!!
God is a God of Healing, Miracles and Restoration! I absolutely LOVE doing humanitarian work and ministry in Haiti. It is my passion and my heart but HAITI needs a GREAT move of God! It needs a total makeover and ONLY God can do that and His hand will be moved by prayer!
It's TIME for people to take back the ground that the enemy has stolen!!!
Please PRAY and BELIEVE with us for 2007 that, "HAITI WILL BE TRANSFORMED!"

WARNING IN THE QUEBEC CONVENTION
At the Quebec Convention in September 2006 in Montreal, Brother Yvon Stabili the pastor in Lachine, Quebec preached one evening. Near the conclusion of the preaching Brother Stabili gave a word that God was requiring ministers to repent of their sins, or in the future months and weeks God would expose. Many ministers came forward weeping and calling on God. It was a sobering time.
The following week in Sudbury at the Ontario Convention in the first morning prayer session. Sister McPhail being led of the Lord gave the group a summary of the word given at the Quebec Convention by Brother Stabili telling those present that as God had warned in Quebec that He was warning ministers in Ontario and everywhere. A time of fervent prayer followed.
The call of God is to holiness, purity, honesty, and integrity. God will expose those things that are bringing dishonour to the name of Jesus Christ and the cause of the Gospel.
GOD'S LOVE IS OURS!
"Friends, rejoice with me! God's love is ours." It is impossible to try to fathom the depths of God's love. God in His person was eager to communicate with His creation on a most intimate level. The true essence of all that He is may be found in the effulgence of all of His glory! Eternity is a continuum that has no beginning and no end. In the mystery of all that God is He determined to reveal Himself to you and me, not in creation alone outside of the creature, but in the intimacy of His creation within you and me. This wonder of all wonders is communicated by and through His love.
Personality is never developed in a vacuum and the uniqueness of one's person is molded and transformed by both the positive and negative forces which are a part of one's experience. We are a composite of all the forces that surround and embrace us. God breaks through the darkest of nights by sending the greatest gift He could give - His very own Son.
The love of the Father is demonstrated and given by the birth of His Son. He invades this "veil of tears" and instead of the royal robes of heaven our Saviour is clothed with our humanity so we might be embraced by the love of the Father and feel, as well as experience, the touch of His Son! The Personality of God has invaded history so we might share in all that He is. His embrace is one of love and forgiveness. By receiving and spending time in His presence He is eager to mold each of us after who He really is. Our persons being transformed by the uniqueness of Himself to each of us predetermined by the counsel of His own will - the revelation of God's desire in that He loved you and me. His personality will be infused and so we are being transformed by the majesty and glory of His Being. The old rags and filth of our yesterdays are obliterated by the rarest of gifts - in the glory of His Son. What a time of rejoicing! God's love is ours. Jesus is His name. Oh! we adore Him. May the Spirit of Christ reign within each of our hearts as never before.

COME UP HIGHER
In Jeremiah 29:13 it says: "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." If ever there was a time for intimacy with Jesus; it is now. After spending a number of months on a sabbatical, I realize the importance of truly knowing our Lord and Saviour. Job said after the Lord appeared to him after his trial in Job 42:5: "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you." Sometimes, we all have to step back and get a fresh revelation of our Lord and what He accomplished on the cross. Too many times, I believe, the gospel is shared (about) God instead of quickening people to get to know Him and His attributes. In other words, salvation is an introduction to Him but it should be preached that it is the beginning of really getting to know Him in a personal way. It is fine to know what God did in the Old Testament and the miracles that Jesus did. Yet, the whole purpose of Jesus coming was the cross and what it accomplished for mankind.
Jesus death and resurrection not only gave us life in eternity but secured for us here and now an opportunity to truly get to know God and what He is really like. Sometimes we have been told about a God of judgment who causes us to walk on egg shells just to please Him. Yet, in the Bible I see a God of love and mercy who time and time promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He also promises to be merciful when we fail Him. The blood of Jesus is far more powerful then any sin in our lives. All we have to do is believe in His love and forgiveness. The Scripture in Isaiah 55:8 which says "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord." is really an invitation to "Come up higher in Him."
It is not a suggestion that God is unreachable as some might say but it is an invitation to a party thrown by God for those who know Jesus as Saviour. It is an invitation to intimacy. He is no longer a God who is far off but to us who know Him, He is Abba Father. So our prayer should be, Father give me your eyes to truly see and your ears to truly hear what is happening in my life and in the life of others. Let me see others through your eyes and experience your love in my heart. In other words, we have royal blood flowing in our veins. We are sons and daughters of the Living God. Let us take our place as His representatives in a world that needs to know that God isn't mad at them and that through Jesus, we can all find the forgiveness and power to live the abundant life that Jesus promised. So our message should be for those who are struggling,
"Come up higher," for it is only in knowing Him can we experience His power.

THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE
Isaiah 49:19 "Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Ephesians 3:7 "That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."
God is ready to do a new thing. It pleases Him to bless. God asked the question "shall you not know it?" In other words, do we make room for it? Are we enlarging our vision to believe to receive? Without enlarging our vision, without faith, God's work will be stifled. Matthew 13:16 "But blessed are your eyes, for they see (an enlarged vision) and your ears for they hear."
We have a vision of victory, and we have expectation of great things from God. Because we have confidence in the God we serve.
1 John 5: 13-15 "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."
BRAZIL ABLAZE WITH THE GLORY OF GOD
My name is Terry Severson and I am a Pastor in Sturgis Saskatchewan. The name of the church is Sturgis Evangelical Church. Last August I was invited to preach in Brazil at a series of conferences called the Fire Sowers Conferences from November 28 to December 20. I hesitantly except the invitation, because I really don't like traveling too much. My church got behind me 100% and supported me and sent me off to a place I had lots of uncertainty about.
The trip turned out to be a tremendous blessing. I visited eleven different cities and preached at eleven different churches, I preached nineteen times in 21 days and God lit a fire in my heart for Brazil and also for the world. The first night I preached to a church of about 400 people and the power of God fell. I preached a simple message entitled "You Must Be Born Again" in order to receive the fire of God, then after being born again you must have a desire for the things of God. Hungering and thirsting after righteousness. In Acts 5:32 the Bible says "that God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him" and if he reveals sin in your life the act of obedience is to confess and repent of that sin and never to go back to it.
God knows the heart and when he sees that you are sincere God responds by filling you with His spirit. I preached with simplicity and made sure everyone realized that God still hates sin and that He has no favorites that get away with evil. And at the altar call I was amazed to see the whole church get up and come to the alter and repent of their sins. God then responded by filling many with His Spirit. The response was the same everywhere I went in Brazil. I preached with simplicity against sin and everywhere the altars were full. These were amazing days for me to see so many people hungry for God. These were conferences where we were, we were to preach about the Fire of God and the fire came as a response to the people's repentance.
Praise the Lord. We have seen people of all ages, boys and girls, men and women. Anywhere from five years old to 75 years old being touched by God the response was incredible. Whether the congregation was 65 people or 1000 people the response was the same, the altars full, people repenting and then the fire of God coming upon the people.
Hundreds of people filled with the fire of God. Before the trip I was a little nervous about going because I really was not interested in traveling but now I have a desire to go wherever God leads me. I have been invited back to Brazil in March 14 till the end of April. So please pray for me for wisdom and understanding of what God's plan is for my life. What I have seen in Brazil I know God can do in Canada, because I know God is no respecter of people. What He is doing in Brazil He can do here in Canada all we have to do is respond the same way. All we have to do as the body of Christ is to hunger and thirst for righteousness because the Word says if we do we will be filled. I praise the Lord for his mercy and grace. May you respond to the call of God in your life.

WORD FROM THE LORD (January 23,2007)
I am the Lord your God. I change not! I am the same yesterday, today and forever. I desire a clean bride that is holy and pure.
Hear Me, My people! I am coming back soon and I am coming for a bride that is holy and pure-set apart for Me-not a people who mix pagan things in with holy things. My people think they are celebrating Me (Jesus) at Christmas and Easter, but these days are a mixture of Christian and pagan worship-which I hate. Did I not say "Come out from among them and be separate"? I hate mixture. Be careful My people to worship Me and Me alone. I am doing a new thing in the world in these days and in My church. I am separating My true worshippers from the others. I love them with an everlasting love and want them to be true and faithful to Me.
My people-I am calling you to come out of the world, and have nothing to do with pagan things. Much of your Christmas and Easter celebrations are pagan and come from pagan origins. Be wise My people-I am coming back for a holy church. I desire your full adoration and trust. Many of My people have been deceived in many things, but now is the time I want to bring them out of deception into the full truth of My Word. My Word is truth-I am the Truth-I will set them free. Let the logos become Rhema in your hearts and your lives. I desire to work through My people, but they must be set apart for Me-not dabbling in things of the world.
Come to Me with your whole heart and desire My truth and I will use you in My Kingdom for My purposes in these last days.
Do not fear, but be obedient and trust Me-for I am with you. Seek Me-seek Jesus. I am the truth, the life and the way-the only way!

IAOGI REPORT FROM PRAYER CANADA
It's a very great blessing to see the reports from many people and various places. The spiritual tide is rising in Canada or is there now just more places where thoughts and actions can be exposed. Our Biblical beliefs and stands need to be continually communicated. There is much encouragement and even excitement as we share miracles of many and various kinds. The Lord does want to bless us all - all the time as we more tightly hold to His commands and directives.
There is great joy in hearing from our Prayer Partners from across Canada and many other nations as our vision grows and expands. Many new Prayer Posts have been established in 2006 in Canada. The Lord's promises of Psalm 2 somehow haunted me ever since we were given the mandate of Prayer Canada. Now we're working on 210 other nations we have registered as a domain, under "Prayer." It amazed us that "Prayer America" never was registered until our team from the U.S.A. heard the call from the Lord to come and help us. Yes, God is keeping records of our needs and how we can effectively deal with His plans.
Now we've found out, every nation had that opening waiting for us, Prayer Chile, Prayer Bolivia, Prayer Kenya etc. all have now been registered under the mantle of Prayer Canada. Now the big job is to establish ground troops, prayer warriors to set up Prayer Posts across their land so 1 Timothy 2:1-4 and the guarantee of 2 Chronicles 7:14 can bless their land.
If anyone reading this report knows of a Christian in any nation of the world, we would very much appreciate hearing from you. Maybe that could be the person to put their nation into the prayer mode to "effectively bring healing to their land." Jeremiah 5:1 so grandly brings out the power of "one honest, just person, He will not destroy the city". As our corporate knowledge is put together the enemy will soon be put on the run. Deuteronomy 28:7 gives the answer what happens when we get serious. The enemy has to flee in seven directions.
Finally it appears 2007 could be the transition year to bring new leadership into Prayer Canada to help release Kathie and I to a lesser degree of responsibility.
Appreciate your prayers - look forward to a great get together in Ottawa May 7 - 10, 2007. LB Isaiah 50:4 "May the Lord give you new understanding every morning."

REPORT FROM INDIA
Upon arrival in early December Faith and I were received joyously at our home base. As we stepped into the church we were garlanded and showered with a barrage of marigold petals from the hands of the 90 children. It was great to see all their smiling faces again.
In our third week we traveled 6 hours by car north to see our East Godavary District Branches. It was a joy to meet all of the eight pastors, each working in a separate village. Some of their prayer halls could hardly be called "churches". The roof of one was made of bamboo poles placed alternately between other slim poles--still having their bark on them. These were covered with leafy branches. The walls were of mud brick. But the "church" is not the building. It is the redeemed souls worshipping there. The joyous singing of the packed-out crowd surely must have reached up to the heaven! Obviously the people were poor, but their faces were aglow with the joy of the Lord.
The other churches we visited also spoke of frugality, but everywhere there was the joy. Each evening entailed driving a long way both to the service and back to the base. The physical effort extended was extensive, but the reward of seeing the zeal and enthusiasm of these country people was rewarding. We also visited the Vishakaputnam pastors, holding one meeting in Arilova In spite of the need in that slum area for a church and other facilities the joy and enthusiasm is overflowing. Still other areas are yet to be reached.
On each of these two special seasons the regular Friday night meeting continued. On Sunday two meetings were held, and one on each of Christmas and New Year's Day. The Sunday evening was like a watch night service too. The same pattern was followed on the New Year's weekend. Attendance for each meeting was full house and more than that. The church was jammed with people and others with the overflow outside. On Christmas Day there must have been 3000 present. The Word of God went forth with power in each service.Every evening people come individually or in groups for prayer. Usually Faith and I have that ministry of praying for them as they come. This too is a blessing as we get to know people more personally.
On a weekend in January a very important session of three days of prayer was held. This is especially with all our church believers. Pray with us. Pastor Rakshana is emphasizing chiefly, prayer for world peace in the midst of turmoil. "In the last days perilous times will come."(2 Timothy 3:1) This is God's Word. We are in that time. Let us all be diligent in prayer.

STREET EVANGLISM IN DUNNVILLE, ONTARIO
When Pastor Ian and I first came and started Dunnville Word of Faith Fellowship in Dunnville, the Lord gave us a strong sense that we were to focus on reaching out to those who had no church affiliation, rather than approaching those that already were members or adherents of another church. The following is an interview I held with Rev. Jeff Gibb, who is the youth pastor at Dunnville Word of Faith and Brother Joe Wiseman. Pastor Jeff has been directly involved and headed up the street evangelism that has taken place through our local church fellowship in the last number of years and Brother Joe Wiseman has joined him along (with a few others) in doing street evangelism. - Rev. Kathy Wills
Kathy: Jeff, how long have you been out on the streets doing evangelism?
Jeff: Since the summer after I got saved (2001)
Kathy: How did you get started?
Jeff: Pastor Ian Wills, who was encouraging me to give my faith away had an idea to write up a survey that we could use door-to-door that would give us a start to reaching into the community. The survey put together by our pastor and his wife was called the "Neighbourhood Sunday School Survey". Through the survey we introduced ourselves and asked if there were children in the household that went anywhere to Sunday School. If the family was affiliated already with a church, we noted that down. If they had no affiliation with a church we asked if they would be interested in sending their children to our Sunday School. We left them with a church tract which had been prepared ahead, specifically geared to the children. If the individuals seemed interested or at least took a tract, that too was noted. If the individual was not at all interested we noted that down also. If the household had no children, we offered a tract more geared to adults. All the tracts gave a simple plan of salvation and contained the church name, address, service times and a phone number to contact someone.
Kathy: Did you do this alone?
Jeff: No. We always went out in pairs for prayer support.
Sometimes it was just myself and another. At other times, during the warmer weather, several teams of us would go out. Since we had written notes on the survey, each time we went out, we knew which households we had already approached, which ones we had not gotten to, and which ones were already involved with a church. This meant we could focus on those we had not yet contacted or ones that were interested in further contact rather than those already attending a church or simply not interested.
Kathy: Do you always use the survey?
Jeff: No, although I am not saying we don't use the survey anymore. As the Lord leads, we go back to it. But after initially using the survey, we started just heading out to talk to people on the streets. When I first started doing this I talked to anyone. When I approached people I would use anything and talked to everyone.
Kathy: How has your format changed?
Jeff: Well, first of all I don't have a format. Now we are far more led of the Holy Spirit than at first. We pray a lot before heading out and get a sense of the Lord's direction. I have learned some things about the best way to approach people.
Kathy: What have you learned?
Jeff: I have learned that it is best generally to not approach a group of people. If there are too many people the flow of the message is lost and the enemy uses the situation to distract those who are otherwise interested. One on one, or two on one is the best situation. One of us always is there to pray. Sometimes we take turns and sometimes one of us does all the talking and the other is there for the prayer support only.
Kathy: How often do you go out?
Jeff: At least once a week and often two times a week.
Kathy: At the beginning of doing street evangelism there were only two of you. How many of you go out now?
Jeff: Depending on everyone's schedule, we've had as many as ten individuals going out. On a regular basis there are 4-6 of us going out?
(At this point Brother Joe Wiseman joined the conversation)
Kathy: Joe, what was it like the first time you went out?
Joe: The first time I went out I said nothing- in fact for the first month I went out with Jeff I only prayed and he talked. Now either one of us does the talking and the praying.
Kathy: Do you still use a tract to hand out to people?
Jeff: We use the tract to give to those we have talked to for a follow-up after speaking with them. We don't give them out wholesale the way we used to.
Kathy: Do you always have a positive response to your witnessing endeavours?
Jeff: No, but we always learn from the situation. One time the Lord had given us instruction to approach an individual. Even though the individual refused a tract and wouldn't let us pray with them, we refused to be discouraged for we knew the Lord had directed us.
Another time we felt the Lord directed us to wait at a certain spot for an individual. A woman came along, who identified herself as being from out of town, asking us directions to a particular bar. Before long she was explaining what a hard time she was going through and we were able to talk to her about Jesus. It turned out that I was the third Christian who had spoken to her that day. Whether she has given her life over to the Lord yet or not I don't know, but she did not end up going to the bar that day, but instead ended going in the opposite direction.
Kathy: How do you measure your success in evangelism?
Jeff: As the Apostle Paul states: "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow."(1 Cor. 3:6 NIV) I am out there doing what the Lord has lead me to do. As my pastor has taught me, God blesses obedience. I am being obedient; the results are up to Him. I don't have to measure my success. He is looking after it.

LAKES COMMUNITY CHURCH
Lakes Community Church was born from a vision that God gave to Alf and Yvonne Kendrick in their home town of Newtown, Wales. Alf and Yvonne had been in itinerant ministry for 20 years when they felt the call of God to move to Canada and pioneer a church. Not knowing where or how or when they stepped out and gave away their belongings and moved to Ontario to see where God would place them.
They were given an apartment n Bobcaygeon and from there traveled in ministry. Still seeking God for clear direction they prayed for God to open a door for them to fulfill His promise in their lives.
They started a bible study, locally, in a friend's fish and chip restaurant and from that opened a church in a rented building (in need of huge repairs). Six people formed the first partners of the fellowship and in faith they took on the building and some renovations were done to make it habitable.
In May of 2006 Pastor Cliff Henderson and his wife Olwyn came over from the UK to preach at the opening of the new church sanctuary, all built by the men of the church and to dedicate the building to the Lord.
Now some three years after starting the church there is a youth drop in Center with up to 30 kids every Friday, Sunday School and some 60 people that meet on Sundays to praise and worship the King of Kings. We are a church that is heavily involved in the community. In the public school, Youth for Christ and since coming here the local ministerial has been started up again.
This year we are going to start a Mums and tots group, our praise band is visiting the local United Church to help them with their worship and we are planning an Easter pageant and a fun day for the town to promote the Jesus who loved people.
As I am sat writing this it is hard for me to take in all that God has done for us in the last three years because on top of all this we have now purchased the building and we are continuing our renovations to make it more useable for the community.
Our hearts cry for this church is that we would be the church of the OPEN DOOR. Everyone is welcome, the hurting the downcast and the outcast. Jesus loved them all and so must we.
Are we glad we came to Canada and has it been easy? Yes we are so glad to be in the center of God's will and there have been some really hard times on the way but to see alcoholics finding Jesus and broken lives healed, sinners finding Jesus, what else can we say?
Lakes Community Church will always be the church for the people and sinners will always be welcome, after all we are all sinners saved by the Grace of God.

FOR THE COMING YEAR 2007
The Lord gave me a picture of a wooden boat filled with a company of people. These people did not seem to know where they were going. They stood in the open boat (no roof on the boat). The people were in a great outpour of rain.
As I prayed, the Lord interpreted this to me. He said "the Body of Christ has been going through storms, yes, but now the Lord is bringing them Showers of blessing." If they will stick together in unity just as they are huddled together in the boat - they will see the way clearly. They will experience such an outpouring of My Glory and blessings such as never seen."
Joel 2:23-32 (NKJ) verse 23 (b) "For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you - the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month." "My people must walk in unity, humbly in the love of God. The Word of God must be what upholds them. Daily they must partake of the manna from heaven. This company of people are causing the ushering in of the greatest move of God on the Earth.
This is the Body of Christ in the world&ldots;this also is the local Body. I am going to manifest Myself in the Body of Christ on the earth such as never seen prior to this!
This is my time. We've only seen the beginning! The Body of Christ everywhere is beginning to realize WHO indwells them. My precious Holy Spirit is within them.
"Christ in you the hope of Glory" (Colossians 1:27)&ldots;The Wood of the boat that this Company of people are in represents the Ark as in the days of Noah. As long as they were in the boat, they were protected from the elements outside. The people in the boat are crossing the river. They are coming into alignment to heaven's plans. They will realize the destiny the Lord has for them. To God be all the glory - all the honour all the praise!!

BE A VOICE FOR GOD
Some months ago I went to Addis Abeba, Ethopia, Africa. I had heard about Christians in Africa who were persecuted and martyred for speaking out about Jesus Christ. I pray we will be convicted and repent of any complacency and holding back from witnessing. My husband Jack and I and others in our church share our faith in stores, to restaurant waiters and wherever the Holy Spirit leads. People are very open for we live in critical times and there is only true security in Jesus Christ.
From Ethopia I flew to Kegali, Rwanda and the first Sunday there I preached in a tent church that holds about l000 people. The people of that country had suffered so much from the genocide about l2 years ago. It is only the power of Jesus Christ who could heal the pain in their hearts and minds and help them forgive those who killed family members and friends. May this be a lesson to each one of us to show compassion to those around us. I also preached in a number of different churches there and thanked God for the way He was building up and restoring people whose lives had been so broken down and devastated by hatred.
I also saw the Holy Spirit working in the lives of the youth in a very special way at an open air youth rally when many responded to the altar call. We need to continue praying for our youth that a love for Jesus Christ and righteousness would grip their hearts.
One day I went to the Rwanda Genocide Memorial, in memory of about 100,000 people that were massacred in l00 days. Hatred can cause so much destruction but God's love is a greater force and power.
After some days in Rwanda I flew to Nairobi, Kenya where evangelistic meetings were set up for me. I ministered in a very poor slum area but those who knew Christ were spiritually rich. There was an atmosphere of revival and spiritual hunger for the Lord.
I also visited orphanages in Nairobi and the day before I left to fly back to Canada I was invited to preach at an afternoon service in a large church that has three services each Sunday morning with a total attendance of around l0,000. The harvest is ready and people all over the world are finding hope in Christ.
We live in troubled but exciting times. Fear and deception is trying to attack peoples minds. A flood of ungodliness wants to invade and take over the nations and put down that which is holy, pure and of Christ. This is a wake up call to be fervent in prayer. People attending our ministry are receiving messages and warnings through visions and dreams. Some weeks ago my husband had a dream of a mace, a staff and symbol of power and authority. Christ is all powerful and we can walk in His authority and be a voice for Him.

BELOVED OF HIS FATHER
Matthew 3:17, John 1:18 God's very heart has walked among us. As I was praying early one 35 degree below morning, looking out my northern window, I was pondering where I am right now, itinerating and reaching out to my 14 year-old adopted Native son who is living up the road but not currently living with me (it's a long tear-jerker story). I heard Father whisper to my spirit man, " Fern, you are experiencing what I felt when I looked at my son living here--,"My Son was also My Heart". It sounded strange - the phrase "My Son was My Heart", so I prayed about it and Holy Spirit took me to a passage in the Word that made sense.
In Matthew 3:17, from the original Greek language, the word 'beloved' is translated "heart" or "dear to the heart", but when used in context of a son to a father, it means literally, "son who is my heart". He was well pleased with him. and in Psalm 2:7 the same word is used, "I will tell thee of the decree: the LORD said unto me "thou art My son, this day have I begotten (implied, "the very part of Me") thee". Remember that he was the very son of God and son of man and the express image of His Father, to bare his soul unto death (Isaiah 53:11a). In John 1:18, he was in or from the bosom of His Father.
I learned that as a parent, your child, especially the troubled or sick one from birth like my son was, is like your heart forever walking around. As they enter their teen years, about the time they must individuate or grow apart from you, you experience the anxiety you know they will also encounter. You know that their peers can be cruel (no man was marred more than any other by his peers as God's own son, Isaiah 52:14) and they may make poor decisions with costly consequences, yet you have to let them go through the hardness of life to reach their destiny. It is as if your heart feels for them but has to watch from a distance. It is somewhat a poor comparison, but knowing our pain at witnessing our children's own pain, we can identify with His broken Heart when He had to, as it were, turn away for that moment at the cross when the earth grew dark and it was finished Luke 23:44. He could not look upon sin and to see his son suffer so, yet in His Heart for us was being fulfilled at that moment, and he decreed through the prophet Isaiah (11:12) that His son would receive His portion (meaning destiny, inheritance) for what He did in absolute love for His Father. You see, we were the Heart of His Son too! Selah.
When we are growing in faith and stature, we must learn to see God at work in where we are, even from the natural and the spiritual side of parenting. For we too, are the "heart of our Father". We know we are favoured with Father's grace through that same Son's labour at the cross. We are in Him as 'accepted in the beloved' who is Jesus and adopted with him as part of the Father's heart too! (Ephesians 1:5-6). And it is all for destiny and glory to Him! (v.4).
We need to challenge ourselves about old ways of thinking (note did not say challenge God's ways or His Word) because His ways are greater (and it is our job to use the lifetime He gave us to search them out and discover them. As ministers we must grow in both the Word to preach it and His ways to model them and pass them on. I believe His Heart is expressed in his ways. Jesus is the way (John 14:6), or translated GOD"S WAY or expression of His Father (Hebrew 1:3) How we see our ways in our children. If we don't, someone else can! But His ways are not for things on earth but for things above, where he tells us to set our hope. That is why Paul tells us in Colossians 3:3,4 that we are hidden in Jesus, he is in His Father and His son is our very life (our heart). And Jesus said, I go to my Father (where I came from) to make a place for you (in His heart too) (John 14:2) He is the very image of a Father who has indeed a very big heart worth preaching about and delighting in! Letter From The Editor
Greetings to all the brethren in Christ:
We are so pleased to report in this issue that God is moving across this great country of Canada. Expansion and blessing continue to be reported every where and our hearts are filled with expectancy for God's continued outpouring and blessing and that souls will continue to come to faith in Christ.
Many are seeking the fire of God's holiness as well. They are seeking the fire agenda of God. Jesus Christ our Saviour's fire agenda broke to pieces all other agendas. Matthew 3:11 John says "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one (Jesus) who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire."
His fire is a holy fire, it is unquenchable and burns away sin in our lives. And for those who do not submit to His fire, they will be utterly burned up, like the chaff. Matthew 3:12. His fire will either burn in purification or in judgment. God is speaking in these days that 98% surrender is not good enough. His Church will be a glorious Church without spot.
Often we pray and believe for revival but are we equally willing to pay the price for revival? The Lord tests those who seek Him but the good news is the Christian life begins with death but does go on to the resurrection in Christ. We die in order to be resurrected in an entirely new dimension of victorious Christian living. God wants to apprehend us, baptize us with His Holy Ghost and fire, and change our lives forever.
Many Gideon's have got all excited about leading out the troops to defeat the enemy. But it is important to read the first part of the story as well as the ending. Judges 6:32. Gideon's first action against the Midianites was to throw down the idols of Baal. Before undertaking the spiritual battle, he kicked down the idols, (idol worship is the worship of wrong gods not the true God) purifying the realm in order to see great things accomplished in the battle. If we are not seeking the tearing down of idols we are in a different movement than the one Jesus began. The fire is a transforming touch from God which causes us to hate sin with a renewed vigor and cause us to, in faith, pursue a life of full consecration to God. The result is a consuming love for God combined with a desire to see the lost come to Christ. Most religious people will not feel comfortable with the fire. They have learned to live the acceptable Christian life. The fire is troublesome to those who in their religious zeal "strain at a gnat but swallow a camel" Matthew 23:24.
It is up to the Lord how He chooses to manifest Himself, God is not equal to us, He is more powerful. That is why He cannot fit into our old patterns. That is why we cannot keep the old wine skins when the outpouring of His Holy Ghost and fire comes to our lives. We now know He is dealing with the Church in stronger ways in these last days. The new wine skins will and must stretch. The Lord wants to impart to many of us a flexibility for the Holy Ghost and fire, and a flexibility for the will of God. The will of God that will be fire and passion for the nations, the will of God that will be a fire and passion for our cities, the will of God that will be a fire and passion for our lost relatives, friends and children.
These are the last days. The Bride of Jesus Christ is almost ready for the Bridegroom. The Holy Spirit is ironing out the last few wrinkles and cleaning the remaining spots and making the Church beautiful for that great wedding between His Church and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Joyfully in His Service
