Rev Paul McPhail, General Secretary

Dear Servant of the Lord:

Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

After five months, I am still thrilled everyday by the great things God is doing through His servants.  It is like a spiritual shower!  Blessing after blessing, report after report.  Please read a few of the reports.  To God be the Glory.

God brought the Israelites out of Egypt and promised He would lead them into a land of milk and honey.  The process of moving out of Egypt was difficult.  They could no longer do things the old way.  The old ways did not work in the desert.  God provided for them during this journey.  But there came a point in which the people forgot what God said.  Their discomfort changed their belief about God.

Whenever God is slow to answer our prayers it reveals what we believe about God.  Do we change our plans and move in a different direction when pressure mounts?  Or do we continue down the path God has directed for us?  Four men believed what God said and were willing to stand.  The crowd wanted to stone them.  "But the whole assembly talked about stoning them."  Numbers 14:10.

Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelites assembly gathered there.  Joshua son of Nun and Caleb, son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes and said to the entire Israelites assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good.  If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.  Only do not rebel against the Lord.  And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up.  Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us.  Do not be afraid of them."  But the whole assembly talked about stoning them.  Then the glory of the Lord appeared at the Tent of Meeting to all the Israelites.  Numbers 14:  5 - 10.

Notice Joshua and Caleb's response to the situation.  They had spied the land.  They believed God.  They challenged the crowd.  They seemed to know that if the Lord was not pleased with them, they would not enter into the Promised Land.  Many who grumbled did not enter the Promised Land, only Joshua and Caleb and a new generation saw the fulfillment of God's promise.

Has God called you to stand for a cause bigger than yourself?  You will have opposition to the call of God; sometimes it even comes from those in your own camp, family, assembly.  But if God has called you then you can be sure He will make a way.  He has already opened the way before you.  But you must walk in faith, joined with Him to take the land, community and nation.

Throughout all of Jesus' ministry, he was tempted to turn aside from his goal because of hardships.  His friends did not want to see him die.  Peter rebuked him when he spoke of his coming death.  His own soul trembled with the cup of affliction when it was placed in his hand.  Nevertheless, Jesus set his face as flint to go to Jerusalem.  He endured the pain of the cross without uttering a word of complaint.

Doing our duty as servants of the Lord means difficulty and often danger.  Effort, restraint, sacrifice, and discipline form the package.

Standing for our principles is order to reach the goal requires great patience.  Often we must begin again and forgive those who do not even want forgiveness enough to repent.  Dedication is the price in any realm of endeavour.

Nothing worthwhile comes easy!  But the reward is worthy of the toil.  We do not have to wait until we get to heaven to begin reaping the harvest from the seed we have sown.  One of the highest rewards for our toil is not what we get for it, but what we become by it.

Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1: 9

"Beloved, God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Hebrews 6:10.

May God bless and keep you.

Your servant in Christ,

 Rev. Paul McPhail

General Secretary

As We Are

I find it so peculiar that when it comes to claiming a place of fame or prominence we too often see our selves first to be chosen.  I wonder whom The Master of all would select when all the records of good and evil are revealed.  It has been often said that many of us will be fooled when our time to go through the portal of eternity comes and we see not the ones we expected in heaven but many we thought did not qualify.

We so often have our inward sights focused on our own abilities that to us, our weaknesses are become the very strengths that have won a place in God's presence.  What absolute folly and arrogance to set ourselves in a place that the best within us could not earn.

As I have walked so many roads in this world and have seen the best and the worst the creation can be, I am convinced none of us has any idea the scale by which we are to be measured.  To have misunderstood the value of grace so much is a sure testament to our ignorance of what holiness is really all about.

It is not an earthly dimension by which we are elected but rather by the grace of one whom with every sin and act of disobedience is anguished beyond our understanding.  It is to our own lunacy that we shall condemn of what God calls unmerited favour truly is.

An old friend traveling from South Africa to Canada to partner with me at a Christian conference had in his traveling caught a glimpse of what grace literally is all about.  Heavily burdened with luggage and the necessities of travel he made his way by bus to the rail station in Durban.  As he entered the hall that was crowded with travelers he sought for a much needed seat and seeing one that was not yet taken he counted his blessing as he prepared to sit down.  It was at this time he learned why in such a crowded room there was a seat left vacant.  There was a man who appeared to be sleeping whereas in reality was passed out in a drunken stupor.  This man had vomited all over his body and had clearly soiled himself in every way imaginable.  My friend instantly reacted with a revolting look on his face and recoiled quickly away saying to no one in particular but to all who could hear, "what a thoroughly disgusting man".  It was at this time that a truth as yet unclear to my friend became an absolute he never forgot, ever.  God immediately spoke to him and said, "Bob, the only difference between you and him is Me".  Sobering isn't it.

WAKE UP CANADA!

This country has been blessed in many ways and is a wonderful place to live. We have sufficient food, clothing, comfortable homes and everything else we need and usually what we want too. God has been good to us and blessed us richly. He is long-suffering, waiting patiently for people to repent and come to Him, because He loves us and wants all to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). Perhaps it is because of our numerous blessings that people have been lulled to sleep, spiritually. Most of us, especially Christians are passive and let things just flow by, hoping they will get better.

I believe it is long past time for the people of Canada to wake up. To realize that this country is in trouble spiritually. We have slipped away from God. It is a slippery slope that we are on now, and I believe that we are right on the precipice.

Christians in this country need to get on their faces before God and intercede, asking for forgiveness for the sins of this land (the bills that have been passed) When the government makes things legal, then they are not just sins of individuals, but these are sins of the nation, so the nation will be held accountable before God. "If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). It seems that the same spirit that was upon Sodom and Gomorrah is upon this country. And you know what happened there! If our country doesn't repent and turn from its wicked ways, only God knows what will happen.

These are the days to get serious with God. We must no longer be lethargic or compromise with the world. We must not play church any longer. True Christians must stand up and be counted, or perhaps I should say get on their knees before the living God and Savior, Jesus Christ, and intercede for our country, Canada, before it is too late.

A PROPHECY FOR THE CHURCH

"The time is coming, and now is at the door, that My people will know My Name; the Name that is above all names, a name they haven't known before. I Am the Bridegroom, and I Am preparing to come for My bride. My people need to get ready for My imminent return. I desire a people, "a bride", that is holy, without sin, set apart for Me, and not dabbling in the things of the world. I desire a clean bride, a bride who has made herself ready, a bride who is faithful to Me. I love My bride with an everlasting love. I gave Myself for her.

The world is getting dark, but do not fear, for I Am the light. Those who follow Me will have the light. I will be a light for their path and make the way for them. Seek Me! Seek the light!

Prepare yourselves; for I Am the Bridegroom, and I Am coming for My bride. I Am doing a quick work and am coming soon."

Some warnings and instructions on worldly things.  People are too interested in worldly things-wasting time on them. You must not let yourselves be in love with the world or the things in the world. You must loose yourselves from their grasp and come out and be separated from them.  Remember that I said, "You are in the world but not of the world".

You must renew your faith. Yes, faith is a gift from Me, but you can strengthen it by reading My Word and praying and meditating on Me. Because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Remember that I said, "would I find faith on the earth?" when I returned. You must prepare yourselves for the days are dark, and getting darker, because the nations do not want My light. They would rather have darkness, so indeed they will have it. (They will be judged). But you, My people, are not in darkness, but light. I Am with you. Be strong and of good courage  for I Am with you. Be holy as I Am holy.

There will be a calamity of great proportion in this land, because they (the nation), have turned from Me. Do not fear, for I will be with you. Pray for this country. There are many people in this country that follow Me. I will make a distinction between My people and those who are not. I will be a stronghold for My people. I will be their protection. Fear not! And stay close to Me. I love you.

CONVENTIONS AND REGIONAL MEETINGS

In order to serve the Fellowship better we are seeking God for direction and asking the Fellowship to provide us with some feedback as to the kind of issues and ministry helps the National Conventions and Regional Meetings should provide.

We know as we seek God together we will have the mind of Christ.  We know that where the brethren dwell together in unity there is liberty and power.

It is in this spirit we enquire of you these questions.  We ask you to contact me your General Secretary to express what you feel the areas we need to address and also the ways that this can be best accomplished.

We thank you for your work for the Kingdom, as we continue to see expansion and growth in many areas as the Lord has promised in these last days. Our hearts are thrilled with what God is doing.

God is moving all across this great nation of Canada, and I look forward to sharing with you what God is doing.   God has His hand on our Fellowship and we see confirmation of this at head office every day, every week and every month, as the Lord continues to call men and women into the ministry.  For the harvest is truly ripe, and the labourers are few.

Again I ask you to contact me personally either by mail: General Secretary, Rev Paul McPhail, 330 Victoria Avenue, Box 653, Chatham-Kent, Ontario N7M 5K8, or by phone 519-352-1743, or fax 519-351-6070 or e-mail:  pmcphail@ciaccess.com

I look forward to hearing from you and please know that my wife and I pray for you on a daily basis that your work will go forward in Jesus Name, and that His Kingdom will be extended for His honour, glory and praise.   We know this is no time to retreat but to go forward and accomplish the work He has given us to do with greater purpose than ever.

Thank you.

"I will call on the Lord who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from mine enemies." 2 SAMUEL 22:4

GOD'S WINGS

An article in National Geographic several years ago provided an interesting picture of God's wings.  After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage.  One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.

Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick.  When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings.  The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.  She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies.

Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body.  The mother had remained steadfast.  She had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live. "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." (Psalm 91:4)

Being loved this much should make a difference in your life.  Remember the One who loves you, and then be different because of it.

Psalm 103: 2-5, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."

In other words quality of life and years of life worth living will come to you.  As a result of believing the Word.  The truth of the Word kept in your heart [forget not all his benefits] will produce an expected result!  If your not enjoying life then your not doing it right.

SOUP KITCHEN MINISTRY

The Word of Life Church located in Blenheim, Ontario, soup kitchen was born when Rev. Tim Joyce and his wife, Pastor Ruth, opened the basement of their home for free Thanksgiving dinners. Turkeys and all the trimmings were cooked by them, their two young daughters, and a few friends. They did three of these dinners in their home before Pastor Tim opened the church.

When he was looking for a building for the church the Lord led him to a building down town. Here a down to earth church was planted that would not only preach about Jesus but show His love to the community in a practical way. James 2:14-18 says if someone is naked and destitute of daily food it profits nothing to tell them to go in peace without meeting their physical needs.

When the weekly soup kitchen opened in January 1998 there was room for 27 people. Other churches, local businesses, and service clubs donated food. When we were installing the kitchen we discovered that water pipes were already under the floor where the sink would be. A fridge, stove, tables, and chairs were donated.

One time when we had been praying for donations we received a phone call. One of the elderly men who came to the soup kitchen regularly had passed away and his family wanted to donate some of the things he had at home to us. We gratefully accepted and waited for what we thought would be a few supplies. They dropped off car load after car load. We filled all the food cupboards and had cases of garbage bags, light bulbs, and cleaning supplies. Psalm 50 tells us that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. It gives Him pleasure to bless us.

Now, almost eight years later, with the help of a donation from the Trillium Foundation, the soup kitchen comfortably seats 80. There are wheel chair accessible bathrooms and all the supplies needed to feed large groups.

In Matthew 25 Jesus tells us that by caring for others we are caring for Him. Some people come because they are hungry, some for fellowship, and others just because they feel safe. We pray before every meal that God will lead the people in and everyone will feel the love of Christ.

The small Thanksgiving dinners that started in Pastor Tim's basement have grown to meals that feed over 200 people. Dinners for Easter, Christmas, and Father's Day have been added. The people who come to these dinners have become a family.

We have shared laughter and tears, births and deaths. Good times and bad. We try to always remember Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 13:13. And now abide faith, hope, and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Psalm 1: 1-3 "Oh the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked or stand around with sinners, or join in with scoffers.  But they delight in doing everything the Lord wants, day and night they think about his law.  They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail.  Their leaves never wither and in all they do they prosper."

Hebrews 1:7, 14 "Who maketh His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.   Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

TYYNE SPILLENAAR 100 YEARS OLD

Proverbs 31: 10, 28, 30 say: "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies?  Her children arise up, and call her blessed.  Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."

Mother Tyyne Spillenaar is such a blessing even at 100 years old. She was always praying, reading God's Word, believing, and receiving God's promises. She resisted evil and the devil and he had to flee in Jesus' name. She claimed God's healing and health and God never failed her. Besides living a life full of the fruit of the Spirit, she also shared the anointing and gifts of the Holy Spirit, prophesying, speaking in tongues, and giving interpretations to edify the whole body of Christ. Praise God for such an example. I have learned so much from godly parents. People want to get gain. "Godliness with contentment is great gain."

I saw in my parents obedience to Christ's command to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things (food, clothing, all needs) shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 It is wonderful to be in a home where God's love is demonstrated and love for God and neighbours is the first and second priority. Many people think they can get away with just living for self. The end of that road is death and hell. But if we deny self and take up our cross and follow Jesus, what a blessed and abundant life we would have. Lord, forgive our sins and help us. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and with Your peace and joy and righteousness.

Tyyne and the Spillenaar family thank everyone for their prayers and support during many years in missionary work to the natives of Canada, Indians and Inuit and Finnish folk and everyone. Please keep praying for us until Jesus comes.

Great Spirit, live in us I pray today. As God raised His Son Jesus Christ from the dead, lift us up to live a new life in Christ. Heavenly Father deliver us from evil to love You with all our heart and our neighbour as ourselves. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prophesy:  "I love you.  Did I not prove my love when I sent my only Son to die for your sins? Did I not also send you my comforter to empower you to witness to my grace?  I need you to love me.  I want you to be filled to overflowing with my Holy Spirit.  Seek my face.  Be of good courage.  Live in my holiness."

Please send us the reports of the good things God is doing in your ministry and churches.  It is encouraging to others and helps us know how to pray.

Please hold up the different ministries and churches you read about in prayer.  The fervent prayers of the righteous avail much.  We stand together in the bond of love.

Love never fails!

We are doers of the Word and not hearers only!

LIGHT TO THE NATIONS

Light to the Nations, a ministry birthed twelve years ago by Richard Brochu, evangelizes and disciples in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba.  This past August, I had the privilege of traveling with 5 others from Walkerton, Ontario to Puerto Plata, to view firsthand the wonderful work being done there.

The ministry here is primarily centered in the Barrio of Bello Costero, which is just one of many poor areas in Puerto Plata.  Residents are faced daily with poverty, poor sanitation, and only intermittent hydro and water supply.  There is no social security or health care.  There are no parks or green spaces - all things we often take for granted in our own communities.  Over 3,000 children call this place home.  Here, God gave Richard a vision to create a refuge for these children.  It is the small school known as The Centro Cristiano el Refugio (Christian Centre of Refuge).  Some students are unable to receive public education since they lack birth certificates; others are coming out of the public system still unable to read and write at grade 3 and 4 level.

Currently, 110 children are registered for Sept 6th, which stretches the facility to its maximum capacity and a little beyond.  We are asking God to provide us with sponsors, whose $25.00 per month goes towards school supplies and the provision of a daily breakfast.  More want to send their children, after seeing not only the tangible results of acquired academic skills, but also the working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the students.

Our team was able to view and pray over an available piece of property just outside the Barrio that the children could easily walk to.  The land could accommodate a larger school, a much needed play area, and living quarters.

We continue to seek God for prayer support and financial support.

Convention Speaker

 R e v    A n d r e w    S h e a r m a n

Andrew believes that God is raising up an army of free (dead to self), joyful, violent people (Matthew 11:12), with an emphasis to work on the missions frontier where the church meets the world.

He is very dynamic in his apostolic and prophetic giftings, yet a humble servant of the Lord.  Andrew has a dynamic faith inspiring ministry, targeting reformation in the church.  Reverend Andrew Shearman is originally from England.  He travels extensively around the world, ministering in conferences and provides spiritual input to birth and establish churches.  He and his wife Maureen have three children.  Rev. Shearman was our speaker, May 2004 - Granby, Quebec.

Mark you calendar.

We look forward to seeing you there!

THE SIFTING

"Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." (Luke 22:31).

The Lord graciously allowed me to minister with a man some years ago. Something I remember clearly about him was the hushed tone of voice he used whenever we talked about Satan and the powers of darkness. On one occasion, I began telling him about my work with drug addicts and alcoholics in Toronto.

I suppose he thought I was being too nonchalant about the subject of satanic activity, because as I spoke he became very somber and in a hushed tone told me: "Don't ever take lightly this subject of spiritual battles or satanic powers. It's a sobering topic."  He never feared Satan. But the subject of principalities and powers of darkness was no laughing matter. God had given him spiritual eyes to glimpse but a portion of the war being waged in the heavenlies for the souls of men.

When Jesus walked the earth, He knew all too well about the fierceness of the powers of evil and how Satan comes with every weapon in hell to sift the Lord's disciples. I don't think any of us knows or understands the great conflict raging right now in the spirit realm; nor do we realize how determined Satan is to destroy all saints who have fixed their hearts firmly on going all the way with Christ.

The testimony of every believer who turns to the Lord with all his heart -- hungering after holiness and a deeper  walk with Jesus -- includes the sudden breaking forth of strange and intense troubles, trials and testings.

We've all experienced this type of harassment from hell. I remember lying in bed one night trying to figure out all kinds of things that had come against my wife and I. Have you ever done that before? All I could say was, "Lord, it's no fun being tested. It sure does hurt. All I can do is lay it all on you and go to sleep.

"Simon, Simon. Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat" (Luke 22:31). It is here that Jesus Himself introduces the subject of the sifting of saints. Sifting means to be shaken and separated or to be shocked through the agitation of sudden trials.

In Christ's day, grain workers used the sieve just before they sacked grain. They shoveled wheat into a square box covered with netting, and then turned the box upside down and shook it violently. The grit and dirt would then fall through the netting until only the grain kernels remained. Jesus was saying this to Peter: "Satan believes you're nothing but grit and dirt -- and that when he puts you in the sieve and shakes you, you will fall through to the ground!"

Peter had just received a promise of fruitful ministry. "1 appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Luke22:29-30). In Greek, the word "appoint" is taken from a root word meaning "to channel."

Jesus had made an incredible promise to the disciples, in essence telling them, " I am going to channel My kingdom through you just as the Father made me a channel of His glory !" Not only would they be channels of Christ's glory, but they also would be given a seat at the Lord's table to enjoy a lifetime of intimacy with Him --as princes, ruling and reigning with Him !

Little did Peter know that while Jesus was speaking these precious promises to him, His heart was in prayerful agony because of what He saw in the invisible spirit world. Satan was at the Father's throne, accusing Peter and asking permission to get his hands on him, as he had done with Job. His accusation must have been something like this: "The Son of God calls this man Peter "rock," saying He would build a church on his kind of faith. He wants to make Peter a foundation stone of a new body of believers. I say he is not a rock of faith -- I say he is chaff and unworthy to be a channel of Your glory. Let me shake him; let me put him to the test. He has an evil streak! He won't last! He's going to fall !"

Satan goes after the tree with the most potential to bear fruit. Somehow, Satan knew that this man Peter was set apart to bear much fruit -- that God was going to give him power and authority.that would be used greatly against his own kingdom of darkness.

Having already pulled down Judas, the devil now thought he saw a measure of corruption in Peter that he could build on to make Peter's faith fail. Satan asks to sift only those who threaten his work.

But why did Satan desire to sift him now? Why was he so anxious to test him? For three years Peter had been casting out devils and healing the sick. Satan heard and knew what God had planned for Peter. In fact, those past three years were nothing compared to the greater works he and the other disciples would later perform. Satan had heard Jesus promise them another baptism -- this time with Holy Ghost power. And he trembled!

Right now, some of you are in the sieve -- and you are being shaken and sifted. Why you? Why now?

REPORT FROM NORTH-WESTERN B.C.

Living in the extreme North-western part of B.C. requires an acceptance of being isolated, physically isolated but also isolated from Christian events and seminars that seem common place among more populated areas.  For us in Dease Lake a trip to "town" means a 16 hour round trip journey to buy a pair of jeans that fit!  Ministry activity in our area routinely requires full day trips just for one visit.

We praise God that He is everywhere, not just in the populated centers of the country!  And we praise God that he lays on the hearts of his children the need to offer assistance and ministry encouragement to people like ourselves who live in more isolated areas.

It is with praise to God that we report another successful (our seventh annual) Stikine Gospel Music Festival.  Born out of a vision two First Nations men had, (one of who was IAOGI member Andrew Quock), this event is a combination of praise and camp meeting revival and draws people, many of whom are First Nations, from Alaska, Yukon, Alberta, Northern USA states and all across BC.  Andy is instrumental in the successful operation of this event as he not only provides and controls the sound system but also leads, preaches, encourages and sings - often keeping us going till the wee hours of the night!

Westside Family Fellowship in Prince George (home of several IAOGI members, including Regional Secretary Arlo Johnson) sent a team of 16 to conduct Vacation Bible School in Dease Lake.  This is the second year they have done so, filling a need that we are unable to fill locally.  Led by IAOGI member Rob Tower (assisted by several adults) this group of youth, ranging from 13 to 17 years of age, touched the lives of many children in the communities here.  It was great to see the way these youthful Christians were committed to serving God, proclaiming Jesus, and demonstrating the love of Jesus as they built relationships with the children.  They also encouraged us by leading the Sunday service and simply through their example.

This fall we expect to be part of a gathering of those who minister in the north, particularly those who minister among the First Nations people.  This three day event is one where we learn from each other, where we encourage and are encouraged, where we hear from the Holy Spirit some of the things he wants us to focus on in ministry, and where we simply praise and worship the God who is so gracious and loving.

God blesses, abundantly!  And in our case he blesses through the IAOGI members in many ways as we are lifted up in prayer, some of which is translated into action, by the brothers and sisters who we have come to know.  The Psalmist said we can not hide or get away from God - he is everywhere.  We praise God that he is, and he is here for us.

PRAYER CANADA

"If our mission concept is less than the world it is too small."

The Canadian Mantle: a covering of spiritual context, where some 800 believers safely connect to share from time to time what the Lord is doing in their life.  Where we can encourage, challenge, and pray for each other to build the spiritual body to become a mighty force for good in our church, in our city, our province, our nation and the world.  "If our mission concept is less than the world it is too small."

We in Prayer Canada have much appreciated our relationship with "Independent Assemblies of God International", where the President is Jesus and each one of us is part of the body.

2004-2005 has been a tremendous outreach for Prayer Canada.  The key area of expansion was to take hold of psalm 2:8.  "Only ask and I will give you all the nations of the world."  (Living Bible).  The Lord even directed qualified friends of His in the USA, to actually do the work for us.  Prayer Canada is the example and has the message to project it across the world.  Therefore if you know some bible believing Christian in any country who might be interested in coordinating or helping, we would love to hear from you.

A 30-day trip to Montreal and back including 4 days at Independent Assemblies of God International Canada Convention in Toronto, Ontario was certainly another highlight especially my retirement from being a BC secretary.  Then our regional convention in June here in Abbotsford was some more training ground.  Our annual Prayer Canada Three day Prayer and Fast in Whistler July 21-24 turned out to be a full house and greatly blessed.

Our summer left little time for lounging.  By July 29, we were on the road again to Northern BC, Tumbler Ridge Family Conference Aug. 1-6, including Whistler, Quesnel, Prince George, Chetwynd, High Prairie and Edmonton, before a fast trip home, for our quarterly Breakfast August 27th with several other obligations to bring the Lord's presence to the market place.

Now of course instead of one nation to be concerned about we have 230 nations.  Lord, I thank you, praise you for 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "faithful is he that calleth you who also will do it."  May the glory of the Lord shine through your every effort to serve the King of Kings.

CHINA TRIP

Pastor Del Edwards has been traveling to the mission field and leading missions teams for the past 30 years. God has established her in this ministry. Over 12 years ago, the Lord spoke to her about the fact that the traveling team would be ministering in the Orient.  And this past August, we had the tremendous opportunity to travel to China and be part of a ministry located in Dalian. Pastor James and Sister Theresa Jin are Korean-born, spent a large part of their lives in the US and felt called to China over five years ago. They have an established ministry there.

There were so many circumstances that led to the door being opened, that we knew it had to be the hand of God. And, while there in China, we came to understand His wonderful providence and divine working even further. Sister Theresa shared with us about how she had been seeking God for answers in the ministry of deliverance. When we came and taught, she stated that our ministry provided her with the clarity that she needed and for which she had been praying for many years. Out of 1.6 Billion people in China, God connected us with the one right individual. Glory to God!

During this trip we were also able to travel through most of the Eastern side of China. We traveled south to Kunming and went further south to the very borders of Myanmar and Laos and visited with brethren that were part of the Miao Nation. It was very challenging to minister there because the roads were mountainous and we had to travel largely on foot to their villages. The roads were very treacherous and muddy, because it was wet and rainy climate. One walk took us about three hours to get to one village, winding through mountain paths. But God gave us 'hinds' feet' and we were able to share wonderful fellowship with them. We visited four of their churches and each choir group sang like angels. These experiences also caused us to add verses to a song that we sang a lot while we were there.

All my help, comes from the Lord, All my help, comes from the Lord

All my help, comes from the Lord, All of my needs, He will supply,

All of my help, comes from the Lord.

When I was hungry, He gave me food. When I was thirsty, He gave me drink.

When I was sad, He lifted me up. All my help, comes from the Lord.

[added verses from our experiences]

When climbing the mountain, He gave me hinds' feet.

When stuck in the mud, He sent His angels.

When I should have feared, He gave me peace.

All my help, comes from the Lord.

When I was sick, He healed my body.

When I had no bed, He made a bed for me.

When I couldn't speak the language, His love came through.

All my help, comes from the Lord.

We also traveled north to Dandong on the very borders of North Korea, at the very beginning of the Great Wall of China. There, we prayed for North Korea and the political situation and we were also able to pray for a church located in that area which ministers to the North Koreans, as opportunities present themselves.

This was truly the trip of a lifetime and God profoundly changed our lives. We ask that you continue to pray for China and the surrounding nations in the Orient. We thank God for these open doors and may He continue to speak to us and to guide us in the coming years.

CHRIST JESUS THE KING RADIO STATION - CJTK 95.5 FM

Radio Station

I am pleased that we have this opportunity to speak about Christian radio spreading throughout Canada.  This country needs a positive influence to encourage people to turn and to see a nation that was founded under God become complete in Him.  Radio is the one medium that is both accessible to almost everyone and can reach people wherever they are.

Whether people are in their homes or offices or automobiles they can be reached by the Holy Spirit as He rains down through the airwaves.  It was that vision that persuaded a small group of us to start praying for a Christian radio station in Sudbury in 1992.

CJTK, "Christ Jesus the King" radio, started live broadcasting in 1997 at 95.5 FM.  Within a year or so it was available around the world on the internet.  Regional broadcasting is accomplished through a 1.5 Kilowatt transmitter in Sudbury and a 100 Watt repeater in North Bay.  Plans are in place to expand service along the north channel of Lake Huron.

CJTK is fully supported by the Christian churches and business community.  It offers talk and music programming for all age groups. The format includes local kids and youth programs, gospel and contemporary music, interview and special interest programs, and a wide variety of independent radio ministries.

The impact of CJTK has been remarkable.  Churches of various denominations have come together and many lives have been touched.  Prayer warriors continue to pray for folks through daily phone-ins.  Many individuals have testified to the influence of Christian radio in their personal lives and circumstances.  Praise God that this ministry has made the difference we prayed for so many years ago.

As I mentioned in my phone call to you we are happy to see David and Linda Jackson succeed in establishing a radio ministry in this region.  The more opportunity Christians have to push back the clouds of the enemy that threaten this region the more effective we are in fulfilling the Great Commission.

I've enclosed two photographs that depict CJTK in its present location, a building containing studios, offices and media library.  This facility has been fully paid for by local believers.

We cherish your prayers and those of the Independent Assemblies of God (Canada).  As you pray for our efforts, we will continue to remember you in prayer.

Letters      Letter From The Editor

 Dear Fellow Servants in Christ:.

In a few months Christmas will be here.  There is no babe in the manger at Bethlehem, and there is no man on the cross in Jerusalem.  The glory of our Christian faith is that the Christ who died for our sins rose again for our justification.  We joyfully remember His birth, and gratefully His dying, but the crown of all our hopes is with Him who rose again and is seated at the Father's right hand making intercession for us now.

The Church's major emphasis is His resurrection power.  "If the same spirit which raised Christ from dead dwell in you it shall quicken you." Romans 8:11.  Because You live Lord, I can live free from the penalty of sin and death.  Because you live I am free from the fear of tomorrow. Because You live, I can really live.   Praise your Holy and powerful Name!

Joyfully in His Service,
