Dear Servant of the Lord:

Greetings in the Precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

"Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."

Where do you find the strength you need for the ministry and for the living of life in the present?

Some seek for strength and help through the securing of a good education.  These are to be commended.  However, a degree does not guarantee one the strength he will need when the pressures of life threaten him.

Some seek for strength on the basis of financial solutions for the problems of life.  It should be granted that adequate financial resources solve many of the problems we confront.  With man's acquisitive instinct, he is always striving for more of the things the world provides.  However, in the final analysis, a man needs strength other than in the area of the financial.

Many seek strength for the living of life through the formation and development of meaningful friendships.  We cannot overestimate the value of the right kind of friendships, for the living of the successful life.  A true friend can be a rich blessing from God.

The apostle Paul suggests that if we would find the strength which is sufficient and always available for coping with all of the problems of life and ministry, we will find this strength in the Lord.  The words of our text says, "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might."  Paul was living in an environment where the strength of the Roman Empire was prominent.  He was living in a place where evil was well entrenched.  From many years of experience this veteran follower of Jesus Christ encourages us to "Be strengthened in the Lord and the power of his sufficiency."  Paul had found the strength he needed for the living of life, for the ministry in all circumstances in and through Jesus Christ.  Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."  He had learned how, in the Lord, to live in the depths of despair as well as on the crest of victory and success.

Paul was aware of the nature of the foe of the ministry and of all Christians.  He knew that our only hope of victory was to be found in the strength of the Lord.  He was aware of the weakness in every person that makes him a potential victim of Satan unless he is strengthened with the strength that comes from God.

The immensity of the task of the church and the responsibility of each minister to be a responsible follower of Jesus Christ demands a strength that comes from above.

Our Lord had promised to His disciples the spiritual vitality and strength they would need for the living of a victorious life and for the rendering of effective service.  Acts 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you."  Paul is encouraging these believers in Ephesus to be strong in the power of the Holy Spirit.  Ephesians 5:18.  These exhortations concerning being filled with the Spirit and being strong in the Lord are in the imperative mood.  To be filled with the Spirit, to be strong in the Lord is not optional to the believer if he would overcome evil and render effective service.  There must be a recognition of and response to God's gift to us in the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the present gift of our Father to each of his servants.  1 Corinthians 3:16 there are some who think of the Holy Spirit in terms of ancient history.  Are you aware, in 2006, that God has given to you this precious gift of the Holy Spirit?  Do not relegate the work of the Spirit to the past or think only in terms of what He might do in the future.  The Holy Spirit is God's present gift to your ministry.

The Holy Spirit is the powerful gift of our Father to each of his children.  Romans 8:26   When Paul wrote to Timothy, he declared, 2 Timothy 1:7 "God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control."

God's power becomes available to us in adequate supply, when we recognize our weakness and cast ourselves upon His grace and sustaining presence.  2 Corinthians 12:9, 10.

We are encouraged to strengthen ourselves in the strength of the Lord rather than leaning upon human resources as we try to cope with the stresses, pressures, and dangers of ministry.

The apostle Paul speaks from personal experience when he says, "I can do all things in him who strengthens me."  Philippians 4:  13.  This declaration does not come from the wild imaginations of a fanciful thinker.  Instead Paul is declaring the adequacy of Jesus Christ to give one the strength to do what needs to be done in whatever life or ministry may bring.

In the strength of the Lord, let us face the fears that threaten us.

In the strength of the Lord, let us join the "I can take it club."

In the strength of the Lord, let us resist the evil one and draw close to our God.

In the strength of the Lord, let us face our responsibilities and opportunities in ministry.

Jesus Christ wants to bring the strength of God into your ministry and will do so as you trust him and follow Him.

It is my prayer that in the coming months we will see the I.A.O.G.I. (Canada) make a profound spiritual difference in Canada and world through the power of the Holy Spirit.  When it is all said and done, the bottom line is in reaching the lost.  North America is one of the greatest mission fields in the world.  We must do all we can individually and corporately to fulfill the Great Commission.

May the Lord grant you a most blessed and productive 2006.

Anna Mae and I are looking forward to seeing you at the National Convention, May 1 - 4, 2006 at The Regina Quality Hotel.  Rev. Andrew Shearman is the Convention Speaker and the theme is "Operating in Authority with Vision and Purpose" Genesis 41:  38 - 49

Your servant in Christ,

Rev. Paul McPhail, General Secretary

IMPORTANT CHOICES

Between the ages of eighteen and twenty four, there are so many important choices youth will have to make.  Such as which high school courses to take, which university or college to go to, what vocation in life, where to live, whom to marry, how many children to have, to name a few?  Youth do not have the experience to make these decisions.  So they rely on their own abilities, the opinion of their friends, and perhaps their parents, spiritual leadership, pastoral leadership. That is why the Word of God is so important at this life-changing time of life.

Genesis 37 tells us that as a boy, Joseph had a dream.  He dreamed that his brethren, and even his father and mother bowed down to him.  While his brothers refused to believe him, his father observed his sayings.

Youth with a dream can aim high and reach a goal. The possibilities are not limited so thinking outside the box can be important.  Performing your best in school, getting the best grades possible and aspiring to university will allow far more potential for accomplishment in the life of our youth.

In Daniel 1:12, Daniel is only twelve years old when he declares, "Prove thy servants,..ten days." Daniel was being groomed for the palace.  He had standards which caused him to refuse the king's meat because it was offered to idols.

Taking a stand for Christian values does cause youth to be challenged by the ways of the world.  God helping you, you will stand true. Youth can do their best by not settling for second best or be tempted to blend in, or duck and cover, by permitting your light to shine for Jesus.

In 1 Samuel 17:29, David was sent to bring food to his older brothers.  They were being challenged by Goliath.  But Israel was afraid.  So David cries out, "Is there not a cause?"

Youth are important, and have a purpose and He will direct their life.  His desire is to use youth today.  The youth have a great destiny in God.

Genesis 39:12 when his master's wife tried to seduce him, he fled leaving his garment.

One of the greatest choices our youth have to make is to be sexually pure until marriage.  All the influences of the world, media, literature, school texts are forcing our youth to make decisions which affect the rest of their lives.  They are told their friends are doing it, no one will know, take the pill, use protection.

The facts are AIDS is down by one third in Uganda because Christian youth are taking a vow of celibacy until marriage.

Celibacy is waiting until marriage for intimacy.  This is God's will.  Marriage is sharing a home, a family, and a life together.  Marriage is something worth preparing for by taking time to get to know your partner.  Resisting sexual urges until your wedding night will make your marriage so much sweeter.

Will you take the vow of celibacy until you are married?  Will you promise to keep yourself pure until you meet and marry the partner God had chosen for you?  God will bless you and give His best if you will.  If you will pray and ask the Lord, the Holy Spirt will give you the strength to keep yourself pure until you marry that special someone.

NORTHWEST B.C.

NETWORKING CONFERENCE

The 3rd Annual Northwest B.C. Networking conference was held in Vanderhoof at Camp Living Waters in October.

The Spirit did flow! We simply organize the conference without any set theme or agenda except that of "waiting on the Spirit". In attendance were people from several different ministerial organizations, denominations, and ministries, with one desire in their heart - to minister to the people, especially the First Nations people, in this northwest area of the province of British Columbia.

We gathered to see what could be accomplished if we were more unified (while maintaining diversity).  This conference was established to network the leaders and the various ministries together in one common goal - that of building the Church of Jesus Christ.

Our first networking conference we introduced our ministries to each other, discovering how God was blessing and leading in a great way.  And we endeavoured to find ways that we could use each other to enhance the total ministry of winning souls - without distrust of motives.  And to see what resources could be accessible for the building of the Kingdom of  God if we were in greater unity.

The second networking conference we built relationships, learned about mentoring and fatherhood.  And explored outside of the box methods to reach the communities we labour in for the Lord Jesus Christ.

This year's conference we identified offences we had caused each other, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation with each other seeking  to receive greater anointing through cleansing our hearts for greater victories.

It was a time of understanding and accepting the mantle the Spirit has placed on us.

We claimed the unity that we need to build the kingdom of God and not the kingdom of man in these last day times.

Solomon is credited with the building of the temple, his father David gave many of the resources needed, Hiram king of Tyre assisted with the timbers, and the aliens within the country were employed in the construction along with the people of the 12 tribes.  It was never a one person show but a working in unity using even those resources outside the "holy nation".  Jesus told Simon to go fishing and then blessed him with a huge catch.  Simon did not hesitate to call others to help him in taking in the catch.  The task was too tremendous for him and he recognized it.

We pray as the Spirit of Jesus leads us forward, opening the way and anointing us with the power and boldness needed that we will go forward in love - love for God, love for those ministering side by side with us, and love for those whom we are called to minister to.  And we give glory to God for the privilege of being used - help us Lord to always be ready and willing, clean vessels you can use to build your House.

PENTECOSTAL/CHARISMATIC CHURCHES

OF NORTH AMERICA

Rev Paul McPhail, General Secretary of the Independent Assemblies of God International Canada attended the recent meeting of the PCCNA (Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America) in Colorado Springs.  The theme was "Demonstrating Unity in the Power of the Holy Spirit."

At the meeting held in Colorado Springs, in October, Dr. Charles Crabtree of the Assemblies of God and Bishop Jerry Macklin of the Church of God in Christ were elected chairman and co-chairman.  These members will provide excellent leadership for PCCNA for the next term.  The following men were elected to complete the executive committee:  Dr. Lemar Vest, Secretary, Bishop Randy Howard, Treasurer, and Board Members, Rev Jeff Farmer, Rev Art Gray, Dr Ron Carpentar, Dr William Morrow, Rev Daniel de Leon, Bishop Clyde Hughes and Bishop Elijah Williams.

A round table discussion was held with Bill Morrow, and presentation and interaction with Doug Stringer and Ted Haggard.   The discussion topics were as follows.

Denominations - What is your fellowship of churches doing to ensure it is releasing difference making ministries both inside and outside the church?  Are the efforts effective?

Churches - What is the role of the local church?  Is it to point people to Christ?  What is it about your fellowship/local churches that points people to Christ?

Pentecost - What should a Pentecostal church culture look like in 2005?  What are the tensions facing the Pentecostal movement as they attempt to occupy as believers in a world that is predominantly unchristian?

Leadership - How does what your fellowship/denomination does in leadership training affect kingdom fruitfulness, support hurting pastors, equip the next generation of leaders and make effectiveness not survival the watchword among your leaders?

Doug Stringer speaking about the "New Revival That is Coming to America", said, stay focused, get back to where you left off if you have been hindered along the way.  Don't let opposition steal from you your vision of destination, feast in the wilderness.  Cling to compassion, if you are a pastor, see yourself as a steward and be a humble servant like Christ.  Encourage and validate on another from a place of pure motives.

He said four characteristics of a leader in transformation.  He is leading in humility and brokenness, leading with a strong prayer life, and personal prayer life, leading with a Kingdom vision bigger than himself.  And he or she is leading by being tenancious, resilient and persevering.

A Christian who knows he is crucified with Christ

More information about the PCCNA is available at their website:  http://www.pctii.org/pccna/ which includes a list of their member churches, a membership application form, and  the history page documents the Memphis miracle that brought this organization into being in 1994, with Jack Hayford's prophecy at that event.

Approximately 95% of our people do not have Bibles."  There are thousands of communities in Russia which are totally unexposed to the Gospel because Russia is such a large country, the largest in the world.  Many communities do not have Churches, Christians or Bibles.  The Russians say to Brother Weller your ministry is very important to us since we have such a lack of Bibles.

REVIVAL PROPHESIED - At the Provincial Convention in Quebec, ministry from Maine prophesied in one of the services that their would be a revival break out, a sovereign move of God in Ontario among First Nations west of Hamilton, Ontario.  At a recent visit by the General Secretary to the Mount Pleasant area Brother McPhail learned that the Oshwegan location under the direction of Rev Linda Sault and Phil Sault her husband are in the midst of completing a building 158 x 60.  When Brother McPhail relayed the prophecy to them they received this word as confirmation and are anticipating great things from God.  Sister Sault asked Brother McPhail to announce this to her congregation.  The Saults ask your prayers for this work, as they plan to move into the new building very shortly.

GROWTH IN THE FELLOWSHIP IAOGI CANADA -We have seen good growth in our Fellowship since the last convention.  Many new ministers have joined, and new churches have affiliated with us.  We have seen transfers from other organizations, new ministers who have never had credentials, although pastoring churches. We have seen some previously registered ministers and ministries returning to join with us again.  It has been exciting.  Some pastors in the nation are passing the torch to new leaders so we are seeing the Joshua generation coming forward.  Keep these new brethren in prayer.

NUNAVIK Kangirsuk, Nunavik - Pastor Peter Airo (Niki) is passing the reins over to his assistant pastor Tommy Kudluk in the near future.  Peter Airo (Niki) was sent home to die with cancer in 1982 after which he received the Lord as his personal Savior and was healed.  Last year he died twice in the hospital in Montreal and had a wonderful visitation in heaven which he is sharing.  Pastor Niki is 73 years old and going strong.  The ordination of the new pastor Tommy Kudaluk was held in December with Rev David Ellyatt in attendance.

NUNAVIK - "Celebrate Life" Conference was held at Aupaluk.  The conference was arranged by Pastor Maggie Akpahatak to combat recent suicides and tragic deaths in the community.  Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly"..  The purpose of the conference was to communicate to the people of Aupaluk the message of Jeremiah 29:11, where the Lord declares that He has good plans for us to give us a future and a hope.

The services started Friday night with a good attendance from the community. Rev David Ellyatt shared his personal testimony and Pastor Eva Deer ministered on "Binding the Strongman". The response to the message was very good.  Pastor Eva asked all those present to come to the platform to come into agreement and declare that "enough is enough."  Rev Ellyatt spoke first on putting on the armor of God and God's secret weapon, love.

Services were held three times on Saturday and Sunday.   They prayer-walked the community after the Sunday morning service, praying for God's healing over the land, especially in areas where there has been violent death.  The Sunday afternoon service was a special youth service with over ninety young people in attendance. Ministry was shared with Pastor Annie Tertiluk.  Together we ministered on the topic "Called Before the World was Made." Many young people came forward for prayer.

CHRISTIAN FAITH IN ACTION NEIGHBOUR LINK -10 churches in Chatham Kent, Ontario,  have joined together and incorporated to form a group of volunteers to help and assist with social needs in our community showing love in the Name of Christ, His love with no strings attached.  Continue in prayer for this group of volunteers as they minister.   We thank God for unity and grace as these churches work together.  In fifty years Rev Paul McPhail has been in the Chatham area, he says he has never seen this unity among the churches.  Truly these are the last days.  They will know we are Christians by our love.

KATRINA - When the hurricane disaster hit in Lousianna it has been reported that the faith based groups were the first to respond and are still ministering there now.  The work of Christians who know how important it is to extend hands, prayers, and whatever is needed at a time like this.  God has given his people hearts that "care."  Continue to pray for the churches and groups who are helping the people who have lost everything.

ONTARIO - Rev Ken and Gail Campbell were in Jamaica in December seeing many souls saved and sick bodies healed in their 6 day crusade there. They were also in Haiti in January for 10 days of ministry.  They ministered nightly in crusades and over the radio.  There were many souls saved.  In the mornings Brother Campbell taught on the Holy Spirit.

I.A.O.G.I. CANADA - The General Secretary and those working with him, pray for you and your ministry daily.  Knowing that prayer will bring breakthrough anointing and wisdom into the ministries God has called us to.  We know that those in this Fellowship have a unique vision.  In economics, the value of something is determined by how rare it is.  Real pearls are costly because they are found only in a small number of mollusks, and they must be searched for.  Gold is costly because it is difficult to find.  It is the same with oil, it does not usually just spring up in your backyard.  You generally have to dig deep to find it.  God has called us to be perpetually valuable, so he made us permanently rare.  Our vision is unique.

Jesus said, "For this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth." John 18:37.  This Fellowship was born to raise up leaders and to train them so that they can impact their entire nations for generations to come.

TORONTO CANADA - Rev Joseph Samuels and Rev Case were in India in February.  They ministered in different areas, but they will be spending most of the time at Ebenezer Revival Tabernacle in India to minister to the people and also to see the progress of the work there.   This work was started in India over eighteen years ago by Brother and Sister Samuels.   They are supporting twenty full time pastors, and also have an orphanage of forty two children.  The Lord is blessing that missionary outreach and we have seen much progress as we would visit them over the years.

The Christian Channel

Rev Paul McPhail, General Secretary of the Independent Assemblies of God International Canada was invited to the launch of Canada's first all-Christian nationally licensed digital TV service to feature ministries, current affairs, movies, music and drama on October 2, 2005 in Toronto.

Nearly five years in the making, this Category Two digital channel offers ministry programming, news and current affairs, music, drama and movies for the country's 22 million Christians. Its mission is "to entertain, inform, enlighten and inspire" both practicing Christians and those still seeking.

Mark Prasuhn, President and General Manager of The Christian Channel, noted that, as a Category Two channel, the service "will be able to offer Canadians a wider selection of the best Christian programming from around the world on a 24/7 basis."

Added Prasuhn: "There is a large and very enthusiastic audience for high-quality programming that explores all aspects of Christian belief. These viewers are passionate, loyal and committed, and it is our great privilege to be able to enhance their current array of viewing choices."

The Christian Channel's inaugural schedule includes the acclaimed music series The Gaither Gospel Hour, the dramas Highway to Heaven and Twice in a Lifetime, and weekly Christian movies such as the smash hit Left Behind.

Other highlights include popular television ministries such as James Robison: Life Today, Joyce Meyer - Life in the Word, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn: This Is Your Day, Peter Popoff Ministries, It Is Written and Tomorrow's World.

Said Dr. Brian C. Stiller, President of Tyndale University College & Seminary in Toronto and the Chair of The Christian Channel's Council of Reference: "Christians in Canada desire and deserve more television programming that celebrates the faithful life. The long-awaited launch of The Christian Channel is a development that we hope will serve to enrich many lives."

The Christian Channel, which is solely owned and operated by the Vision TV group of channels, launched initially on Rogers Digital Cable (channel 396).

THE AZUSA STREET REVIVAL

They began meeting in a home on Bonnie Brae Street, Los Angeles, where the hunger for revival began to draw an increasing number of seekers.  The leader of this group was a man named William Joseph Seymour.  For Seymour, the message of the hour was a renewal of Pentecost, as evidenced by the infilling of the Holy Spirit, accompanied by speaking in other tongues.

As the word of revival fire began to sweep, the need for a larger facility was evident.  Finally a vacant, rundown building at 312 Azusa Street was located and rented.  It had formerly housed the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, the building was 40 x 60 feet and opened on April 14, 1906.

For three years, the revival continued essentially 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with at times more than 1000 in attendance.  People came from all over the world to receive their "Pentecost," many being overwhelmed spiritually before they ever reached the building.  What has been termed the "world's greatest revival" has, in our day, resulted in a vast army of over 600 million spirit-filled believers, touching every nation on earth.

The Asuza Street Centennial will be held April 25-29th, 2006 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California, www.asuzastreet100.net.  The purposes are to bring together all the various streams of the Pentecostal movement. Also to evaluate the Movement's response to the divine mandates given at Azusa Street, and to seek the face of God for the Movement's future direction.

The Centennial Cabinet, composed of a cross-section of national and international church leaders, serves as a steering committee.  The larger leadership group, the Centennial

Ministry Team, includes about 150 pastoral and ministry leaders from around the world.  Rev Paul McPhail, General Secretary of the Independent Assemblies of God International Canada has been invited to be part of this ministry team.

For nearly three years, intercessors around the world have been petitioning the throne of God on behalf of the Centennial.  A continuous 120 hour prayer meeting will be going on during the week of the Centennial events.

For the past several years there has been an increasing hunger among many Christians for God to send a mighty revival of worldwide proportions.  There is a growing sense that this Centennial may well be the catalyst that sparks the beginning of that revival.

One of the major characteristics of the Azusa Street Revival from its inception was the unusual sense of unity that prevailed among the diverse group of participants.  Many are praying that same spirit will envelop the Centennial.

Please keep this meeting in prayer.

  TAKING HOLD OF THE PROMISES

The mother of Jesus saith unto Him "they have no wine".  Jesus told His mother "Woman, what have I to do with thee?  mine hour is not yet come".  Mary knew who her son was, that He was able to solve the problem.  She spoke out in faith "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." We don't know how long it would have been for the appointed time for Jesus to manifest Himself.  It may have been a week later, a month later, even a year later.  What we do know, was that the word of faith brought forth or hastened the appointed time and a miracle happened that day.  We can take hold of tomorrow for today.

We took the opportunity to show our oldest son Jonathan through the National House of Prayer [NHOP].  On the second floor west end there is an outdoor porch that has three archways facing north, west and south.  As we walked through the house, I remembered the prophetic word regarding China.  I was physically compelled to go out onto the porch and look through the archway facing north.  This archway frames the front doors of the Embassy of China.  Immediately, the Lord spoke to me and said "House of Promise".  As soon as the word was spoken something inside me broke and gratitude flooded over me.  You see the NHOP is a very elegant building, a building worthy of being an embassy and in a way represents a sort of 'first fruits' of what the Lord is about to do in Canada.  I believe that we will and are about to see the magnificence of our God!

I sat down and set aside time for the Lord to speak to me concerning the New Year for us as a family as well as our group called 'Tent of David'.  It is our pattern that whatever is given to us at this time is followed to the letter during the New Year.  Both Dale and I believe we must give the Lord the dignity of His Word - that what He says He is able to do.  As I reflected I believe the Lord spoke to me that it is time for us to stand firm and take hold of the promises.  The NHOP is the 'cloud the size of man's fist'.   God has heard and is about to answer the heart cries for a Canadian revival.  In fact, in 2006 we are going to take hold of the promises to the extent that we get what is promised. But we are after more this year as we will also hasten the day by reaching into the future and laying hold of those things promised for us later in our lives and bring them into the now of today.  We are about to receive preferential treatment as promised. We must accept God lavishing His love upon us, providing for us beyond what we could ask or think.  The miracle of Cana shows that provision is at the heart of how Jesus manifests His glory to us.

Dale and I will be heavily involved in the watches and leading in prayer at NHOP the National House of Prayer, Ottawa, Canada, during the timeframe of the elections, we desire your prayers as we are involved in this ministry.

The National House of Prayer [NHOP] is a prayer ministry that is establishing a presence in Ottawa, Canada that will provide informed, focused, and sustained prayer for Canada and its leaders.  Dan and Dale Rosborough invite you to continue to pray for the National House of Prayer and for more information about what you can do visit the website: http://www.nhop.ca

MISSION REPORT RICHARD BROCHU

In September 2005, Luz a Las Nacione was privileged to open a new Christian school in Ouanamente, Haiti.  Long time friend of the ministry, Pastor Paul Michel, is now teacher to 35 young students. A team of Dominican Christians helped to convert half of Pastor Paul's house into a school room and delivered handmade wooden desks.  In this impoverished land, these children can now learn to read and write and study God's Word for themselves.  I was able to visit the school in December, taking a small gift and food items for each child.  These gifts were lovingly supplied by the children at our Dominican school, who raised $100 (Canadian) to give to the Haitians.  God, in turn, touched the hearts of the Woodslee Prayer Community Church, whose generosity enabled us to host a Christmas party at the Centre in the Barrio of Bello Costero in Puerto Plata.  We presented the film, "With Whom Are You Going," and had a tremendous response, with over 200 in attendance.

Outgrowing the small, rented house that accommodates our Centre, we have now purchased land on the outskirts of the Barrio. Once built, the new school will facilitate more students and eliminate the need to rent living accommodations. God is blessing, not only in leading us to this property, but in granting us favour with government officials, who authorized our building plans and ordered their work crews to use their heavy equipment to clear the lot for free!

We continue to trust the Lord for funds to build, and for more sponsors for the children.

In February, I will be traveling to northern India to visit a missionary friend, Sister Splane.  Please pray for traveling mercies, that Sister Splane and I may be a blessing and encouragement to one another, and for protection over the work here while I am away.

EASTERN ONTARIO REGION

In September we were blessed by the presence of our new General Secretary Rev Paul McPhail. He was our guest speaker at our regional meeting here in south eastern part of Ontario. There was a record attendance of about forty ministers to hear the burden of God for our great fellowship that our General Secretary has been anointed with. Rev. McPhail read the charge to Dan Woods and after the laying on of hands was welcomed into the fellowship. Dan is working with the Inuit Christian Fellowship church in Ottawa. It is exciting to see the wonderful growth of churches and Ministers in this area.

We had the honor of inducting Pastor Basile Bakana and his church into the fellowship of I.A.O.G.I. Canada.  The church which is French speaking is located in Ottawa. They served us with an African style meal after the service and that gave us a precious time of fellowship with the congregation.

I had the privilege of taking part in the Convention in Kangirsujuag in Nunavit in the high Arctic.  While there we presented the charge of ministry to Reeba Carleton, who along with her husband Boyd pastor the Ottawa Inuit Christian Fellowship. The pastor of the Aupaluk Full Gospel Church in Kangirsujuag Nunavit is Pastor Anna Tertiluk. Pastor Anna who is a member of the fellowship and her husband Mark are truly great lights in the kingdom of God.

When the time came to fly home a fog had rolled in and we all got to spend another day with our new found friends. I was privileged to get an invitation to Pastor Anna's house, to what they call a country dinner.

When I arrived at her house there on the floor beside the table was a large piece of cardboard with frozen raw arctic char and very large piece of raw caribou. There was also some fresh cut onion and a little pile of cut pieces of carrots and little white dish of some kind of almost clear looking sauce. Every one was sitting on the floor in a circle around this spreading with there Inuit knives cutting off various pieces of this raw meat, they would eat it with a little onion or carrot and than sometimes they would dip it in the little white dish of sauce.

I was given an Inuit knife and a place in the circle to sit down, now to fold my legs into pretzels and get down gracefully my body refuse to cooperate and down I went with a very loud thud and a graceful chuckle was heard from all.

The raw Arctic char to my surprise was wonderful and the raw caribou with the little onion sometimes and sometimes pieces of carrot I would strongly recommend to anyone.

Having had so much success so far, I thought it is good time to try this sauce in the white dish, some one cut me another morsel, because I could not master the art using there Inuit knife.  I dipped it in the sauce and gently started toward my mouth when this odor started to give my stomach heaving sensations. I gently put the morsel down on the cardboard and ask what kind of sauce that might be.   Whale blubber was the answer. Now if the Lord gives you the honour of having raw Char or raw caribou you will be blessed, the whale sauce on the other hand you should be well prayed up.

Let us all grow in His grace and in the knowledge of God our Father and our Lord Jesus.  The grace of faith to believe for great supernatural things and the Holy Spirit in us guide us to pray prayers that can do more than we are able to ask or think.  Let us release ourselves to Him and let not unbelief hold back that which He has put in us.

The grace of His unconditional love motivating us in all that we think and do.

Let us never let a day go by that we do not learn something new about our heavenly Father or our Lord Jesus Christ. It is in the knowledge or fresh revelation of Him that will charge the inner man to greatest heights in our God.

* * Special Music May 3 & 4 by Rev Harry Rusk.  His ministry is Kanta Ministries.  He was born in a remote Indian village in northern British Columbia.  He has received many awards in music, and is an ordained minister of the Gospel with the Independent Assemblies of God International [Canada].  He records Gospel music and carries the word of God around the world.  His ministry includes taking the Gospel where most needed, prisons, homes for the aged, institutions, the streets and remote outpoints of the Canadian North. Our brother's ministry has taken him to many countries abroad and Canada and the United States.

He has been awarded both from Alberta and British Columbia governments for achievements, and also many music awards.  He was also awarded for playing himself in a made for TV movie "Beyond the Bend of the River."  His testimony has been heard far and wide, and to this we praise God.  God is still in the life changing business, making "vessels of honour" for His glory.  We look forward to being blessed by this brother's ministry.   We ask your prayers for all the services and participants of the convention in May 2006.

KEYS TO KINGDOM LIVING

Drawing into the Heart of Our Father, Remain Abiding Centered in Christ Jesus and Relationships, relationships - relationships; these three (3) themes were the Keys to the Kingdom Living being shared in South Korea and Japan this fall season.  Truly, from start to finish, my five weeks witnessed a great testimony to the awesome reality and greatness of Our Living God; as these beautiful people of both lands were so open in sharing the needs of their hearts concerning God and I was an eye witness of His Glorious visitations afresh upon them and their loved ones. It is a very exciting and uplifting time for these people.

The Ministers of the Gospel that I was privileged to meet, pray, worship and fellowship with were of a unified mind in their sensing that God is busy pouring Himself upon and through the younger people. Many that have witnessed the emptiness of religious rituals as well as many that are pure without any experience of religion, are very 'fired' up for God.  They eagerly bring in numbers and numbers of youth to their church housings. They are all hungry for the Book of Acts "community" church where God's unconditional Love is the only expression that binds them together. It is very beautiful to witness, at the same time the Ministers are feeling overwhelmed with the bigger picture of responsibilities that are automatic with this kind of growth. In Japan as well as Korea, they all expressed their wish that more English speaking Gospel Missionaries would come alongside and assist them in their labours. Another very common concern spoken of by their Missionaries was the lack of prayer support - spiritual support (such as edification and exhortation) as well as financial assistance support; especially for the Missionaries; as they feel the general populace in the church think being a missionary is not a real valid Gospel Ministry.

It was such a great honour to share this experience with our brothers and sisters-in-Christ in these lands. I believe with all my heart that, if possible, every North American Christian should broaden their horizons by sharing the heritages and cultures of their Christian Family's in other parts of this earth. It not only helps us be more grateful for what Our Father has so freely given us but it also wakens even deeper the awareness that we are all just a small cell of His Great Body and we are all here for the good of one another. Not only in our small families, churches, communities, and countries but also just as significantly our world of nations.

CELEBRATIONS AT PORT SIMPSON

(LAX KW'ALAAMS) BRITISH COLUMBIA

The dates had been set and two very significant Celebrations took place at Port Simpson, the first, early in the fall as Ted Ryan went to be with the Lord after a long fight with cancer.  Andy Quock, an itinerant Minister with the Independent Assemblies of God International represented our Fellowship at the Celebration of the Life of Ted Ryan.  Ted Ryan and his wife Bertha served the Lord for over two decades in Port Simpson, and did an excellent job in laying a good foundation at the Native Revival Centre.

Now a second Celebration was taking place at Port Simpson for the public recognition of the Licensing of three workers appointed by Ted Ryan before his death, they were Eddy and Karen Knott, and Darlene Dudoward.  The invitations had been sent out announcing the Celebration for February 3-5, 2006 and people from 14 villages and cities (Prince George, Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Terrace, New Aiyansh, Kincolith, Kispiox, Gitanyow, Masset, Bella Bella, Kitsumkaleem, Kitselas, Kitkatla and Prince Rupert) converged on Port Simpson.  Those who came for this Celebration represented seven nations of First Nations people (Tsimshaw, Githsan, Tahltan, Nisga, Carrier, Heiltsuk, and Haida Gwaai).  This company of just over 200 people also represented a variety of Church Fellowships and Denominations including the Independent Assemblies of God, the United Church of Canada, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, the Faith Full Gospel Evangelistic Association, the Christian Minister Association and the Anglican Church of Canada.

And what a Celebration it was ... just a little of what Heaven will be like, as the Celebration went on until the wee hour of each morning!

As Eddy and Karen Knott and Darlene Dudoward received public recognition of their licensing and their leadership of the Native Revival Centre, they were joined at the Altar by Bertha Ryan, the Elders and Deacons of their local church, as well as all the Pastoral Leaders from Northwest of British Columbia who were present for the Celebration.

Andy Quock brought a report about the renewal of the work at Kispiox under the leadership of Annie Gawa and her husband Lenard.  Annie Gawa is in the process of renewing her license with IAOGI, affirmation and special prayer was offered for Annie and Lenard Gawa.

Arlo Johnson, assisted by Andy Quock, Randy Adam, and Larry Keegstra gave leadership in leading Worship and ministering the Word that took place on each of the evenings of February 3-5, 2006.

But there was a larger vision present and it was stated over and over again in this gathering, and the VISION is this:  That God's People, the Body of Christ are coming together by the Holy Spirit to NETWORK as ONE NEW MAN to dismantle the strategy of the demonic spirits of darkness in Northwest British Columbia and replace it with the HOLY SPIRIT'S NETWORK OF CHRISTIAN WORKERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST to bring in the Great Spiritual Harvest in Northwest British Columbia, thus speeding up the time of our Lord's Return.

Our invitation to each of you that reads this report is this: PRAY FOR ALL OF US FROM MANY NATIONS and MANY CHURCH ORGANIZATION that this vision will come to pass!

Rev Arlo Johnson,

Regional Secretary Northern British Columbia

POLITICAL AFFAIRS

This year of election, 2006 saw the people of God rally to pray and contact the candidates in their ridings to ask questions pertaining to important issues.

God has spoken that there is a turning, shifting, and shaking, not for the purpose of harm but to bring us to focus on the church again.

These shakings are sifting and sorting the old and new, and He is bringing forth the new.  Let us declare and believe that as the Word speaks in Psalm 65:11 "thou crownest the year with thy goodness."  This is good year to rejoice in God!

Things are beginning to intensify.  Allow God to bring you through these shiftings into the destiny and purpose which He has called you for.  "The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts." Haggai 2"6-7, 9.

General Secretary, Rev Paul McPhail contacted the four candidates representing the ridings in Chatham Kent, Ontario with a document asking questions concerning the following: marriage (Questions - Would you support the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others?  Will you take active steps to re-affirm the heterosexual definition of marriage?  What will you do to protect the religious freedom of those who do not support same-sex marriage?), protection of children (Questions:  Do you support raising the age of consent for sexual activity? family (Do you support a family

Impact assessment of federal programs and policies? What Policies do you propose to reduce the stress on families and decrease the rate of family breakdown?), religious freedom in Canada (What steps will you take to support freedom of conscience and freedom of religion in Canada?), poverty and homelessness (What specific measures will you take to assist the homeless? prostitution, (What specific measures will you take to assist street sex-trade workers in exiting prostitution? What will you do to address sexual exploitation and trafficking in Canada? Do you support the decriminalization of prostitution?), respect for human life (Would you support the introduction of legislation to regulate abortion in Canada?  Do you support the existing laws against euthanasia and assisted suicide? What steps will you take to support palliative care?), refugees (What steps will you take to make the refugee system more transparent, compassionate and just? Will you actively support a merit-based appeal for refugee claimants?), international religious freedom (How do you plan to address issues of religious persecution internationally?), global poverty reduction (Do you support the commitment to increase Official Development Assistance to 0.7% of GNI?  Will you commit to a timeline for achieving the goal, including interim targets?  What concrete measures will you take to make agricultural trade fair and beneficial for poor countries?), environment ( What measures would you take to protect the environment in Canada and to ensure Canada does its part to protect the environment globally?), Government integrity (What personal traits do you believe an elected official must possess to fulfill his/her role with integrity and contributing to the greater good?), national unity and reconciliation (What steps will you take to bring reconciliation among communities in Canada?)

Brother McPhail shared with all the ministers across Canada by e-mail this document.

For those who did not receive and wish to have one please contact head office I.A.O.G.I. (Canada), Box 653, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, N7M 5K8 and we can forward it to you by mail, requests may be made by e-mail us at pmcphail@ciaccess.com.  This document spells out as Christians what we believe, according to Biblical standards on each of the areas sited.   It is a well written, well thought out document to have as a reference.  This document acknowledges our role as Christians who are well informed and making significant impact for Jesus Christ in this generation.

Brother McPhail also requested personal meetings with the candidates to address the answers their party had to each of these issues. Each candidate forwarded to us in writing the responses, and we were able to share those with the Christians who wished to be better informed.

The head of one of the major Political parties in Canada made contact with the General Secretary Rev Paul McPhail with a request to use the letter from the General Secretary which appeared in the Canadian Mantle, October 2005 edition.  He wished to send it to all the candidates who ran who were unsuccessful.  We give God the glory for using this letter to minister to others.

One of our members Ron Gray is the leader of Christian Heritage Party, and he let his name stand in this last election.

One of our ministers forwarded the document Brother McPhail had sent to the candidates to 10,000 others in Canada to have as much exposure as possible to get Christians informed.  God has something wonderful in store for Canada.

Letters      Letter From The Editor

Dear Servants of the Lord and Friends in Christ:

As I speak to many of you across the country my heart is thrilled at the things you are doing for God.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is being planted in hostile cities, and even hostile nations by mighty men and women of God who dare to take risks. We pray for you daily.

Apathetic churches will only be revived across Canada by praying people who honour God with their lips and lives, and who are in sync with God's desires.

1 Chronicles chapter 11 tells about ordinary men doing great things. David's mighty warriors in this scripture were not royalty, or graduates of West Point, they were just regular people from small places-who set their hearts to do exploits for God's anointed.

We need men and women who will step out to turn back today's slide toward godlessness, prayerless churches, family breakup and waning evangelistic fervor.

When it comes to spiritual matters you and I will never know our potential under God until we step out and take risks on the front line of battle.  We will never see what power and anointing are possible until we bond with our King and go out in His name to establish His kingdom.

Sitting safely in the shelter of Churches, Bible discussion groups, or complaining to one another about the state of the country will do nothing to unleash the power of God.  He meets us in the moment of battle.  He energizes us when there is an enemy to push back.

God's work in the world is usually a joint project.  He works with us as we yield ourselves to work with Him.

God's plan for the local church has always centered around evangelism.  Those brought to Christ are thus born into the very place where they can be nurtured and discipled.  An evangelistic focus would force us back to serious prayer and an emphasis on the presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  God would prepare us as only He can for victorious spiritual warfare.

We would require the anointing, at any cost, which would mean living in the Word, calling upon the Lord, fasting and prayer, so that reaching out to the lost world would consume us.  "Go and make disciples of all nations." Our sense of inadequacy is no excuse given that He has promised to work with us as we set our hearts to the task of extending the Kingdom.

Joyfully in His Service,

Rev Anna Mae McPhail, Editor
